Chapter 1206
Xavier followed the address Darwin gave him, only to find an empty spot near the Window of Art Museum.
Darwin gave him another number, but it was still dead when Xavier called.
He truthfully reported the situation to Darwin.
Xavier couldn't find anyone, and the number was always dead, yet Darwin could get through every time.
Darwin was furious.
Rex kept calling, but the calls were barely audible by the end.
Darwin didn't care and rushed out.
When Xavier got Darwin's call again, Darwin was already at the Window of Art Museum for some reason.
Xavier hurried over and was shocked to see Darwin kneeling, seemingly doing CPR on someone.
When he saw Xavier, he yelled, "Call an ambulance! He's losing a lot of blood!"
The dead number, the missing child, and Xavier's suspicions from North Alabama all clicked.
"Mr. Solomon!" Xavier panicked, trying to pull Darwin up. "We need to find Mrs. Solomon now!"
"Xavier, this child is dying! Call an ambulance!" Darwin shouted.
"There is no child!" Xavier yelled back. "Mr. Solomon, get a grip! It's just us here, no child!"
Darwin's face went blank. He looked at his bloody hands and the ground.
"How can there be no child? He's right here!" Darwin pointed to Rex, lying in a pool of blood.
"Mr. Solomon, think about Mrs. Solomon, Chicago, and Charles!" Xavier urged, grabbing Darwin's shoulders.
He knew that in Darwin's heart, Chelsea and the two kids were the most important.
Perhaps only they could bring him back to his senses.
Darwin's eyes cleared after a moment, and Xavier sighed in relief.
"Mr. Solomon, it's going to be okay. I'll take you home," Xavier said, helping Darwin up.
But after a few steps, Xavier felt a sharp pain in his back. He let go of Darwin and staggered.
He looked up, mind blank. Darwin's hands were bloody, and a knife was in Xavier's back.
Darwin stood there coldly, watching Xavier fall. He picked up his cane, stepped over Xavier, and walked out without a word.
