"Lilian, did I ever force you? You were the one who thought Darwin wouldn't wake up and opted to marry someone from old money like me!" Simon's retort was cutting.
"Yeah, but are you really from old money? You're nothing compared to your family!" Lilian's words struck Simon deeply.
Simon fell silent. "Fine, you're right. In that case, I hope you find the high society you desire with that bastard in your belly!" His tone turned icily indifferent.
Lilian panicked at Simon's callousness. "Simon!" she cried out as he hung up.
Left alone, Lilian felt a chilling realization creeping over her. If even Simon had abandoned her, she would be left with nothing.
Lilian sank onto the hospital bed, her gaze drifting to her swollen belly. If not for Darwin, she wouldn't have chosen this path.
"You're worthless!" She struck her belly hard, catching the attention of a passing nurse who intervened immediately.
"Has anyone come to visit me?" Lilian grasped the nurse, her eyes filled with desperation.
The nurse shook her head. "Lilian, your priority now is to take care of yourself and the baby."

"Darwin is heartless. He should at least meet her once, considering she saved his life and she's pregnant," someone remarked.
"Are you serious? She doesn't even know who the father is and blames Darwin. If I were him, I'd do more than just meet her," another chimed in.

"Looks like someone leaked the news that Lilian didn't save Darwin at all!"
