Chapter 1452

Melissa wasn't sure if she understood.

She stared blankly, drooling a bit, her big, beautiful eyes blinking at Chicago.

When Chicago finished speaking, she broke into a wide smile.

Darwin immediately smiled too, though he felt a bit melancholic.

Chicago had grown taller over the past few months, and her personality had changed significantly, becoming more independent.

Clearly, he had missed another part of her growing up.

"Sweet Chicago, take Melissa over there to play. Great-grandma and Daddy need to talk," Janna said, signaling to her secretary.

"Mrs. Solomon, I've organized the information you needed and sent it to your email. I'll be heading out now."

After the secretary left, Chicago hesitated, holding Melissa's hand. She thought for a moment, then ran over to Janna.

She tugged on Janna's hand and stood on tiptoe to whisper in her ear.

Janna leaned in with a smile, "Great-grandma, you can't be mean to Daddy."

Janna was speechless.

"Afraid I'll be mean to you," Janna pretended to be jealous. "You ungrateful child, who have you known longer, your dad or your great-grandma? And you're taking his side!"

"I'm on both your sides!" Chicago quickly tried to make up for it.

"Alright, I won't be mean to your dad. Now go play with Melissa!"

Chicago grinned and immediately picked up Melissa, running off.

"Is he completely better?" Janna didn't waste time with small talk and got straight to the point.

Darwin thought for a moment, "With mental illnesses, there's no such thing as a complete cure."

"At least you're honest," Janna said, sitting down on the single sofa opposite Darwin. "I'll be straight with you too. When I first found out about your illness, I was adamant that Fiona should divorce you."

Darwin lowered his eyes, "I understand. If it were Chicago, I might have reacted even more strongly."

Janna looked at him, her expression softening a bit. "In any case, make sure you have regular check-ups and never skip your medication. If you can avoid a relapse, do it. You have no idea how many times Fiona cried in secret while you were gone!"

Janna's voice choked up a bit.

Darwin's eyes reddened immediately, "Grandma, I will remember. Please don't be sad."

"Get the Solomon Group back under your control as soon as possible. You have too few reliable people on your side. Do you know how much my granddaughter has been overworked this past year?" Janna complained.

The Solomon Group was different from her Rhoads Group.

The Rhoads Group had been passed down through generations, and under her leadership, it had a well-established system.

The Solomon Group had only risen in the past decade or so, with Darwin ambitiously expanding its reach.

He had always managed everything single-handedly, a rare talent. That's why, when he first had his breakdown, so many people were eyeing the chance to take a piece of the Solomon Group from Fiona.

But Fiona proved herself, matching Darwin's capabilities.

She not only kept the Solomon Group intact but also helped it thrive during this time.

"Yes, Grandma," Darwin replied obediently.

Seeing this, Janna held back the complaints she had been ready to voice.

Fiona finished her work and came downstairs, seeing Darwin sitting obediently across from Janna, receiving a lecture.

"Grandma," Fiona called out, smiling as she walked over to them.

Janna looked at Darwin and said, "See, here's another one coming to defend you!"
