Chapter 391 Showing Off His Wife to the World

The excitement was ongoing in a buzzing online forum with thousands of members.
"Ha! He finally made it official, huh?" a brainy type who had worked on research with Kenny piped up. "Here's some juicy gossip. When the Genius returned to school, his professors teased him because he was restless, working around the clock. They asked him why he was pushing himself so hard, and he just showed them a photo of his wife saying, 'Miss her. Can't wait to get back.'"
Another insider joined the conversation, "I can vouch for that. He even showed a photo of his wife to my professor—who had just bumped into him at the cafeteria and asked how he'd been. He just whipped out that photo, leaving my professor bewildered, haha!"
When these messages hit the chat, people who didn't know Kenny were stunned.
There had been a time when Kenny was so otherworldly brilliant that some international students on forums speculated he was an alien, here to steal human genetic samples.
How would an alien get a girlfriend? Wouldn't that be a dead giveaway?
"Damn, Is the Genius so romantic??" one asked incredulously.
"Whipping out his wife's photo to show off whenever, wherever—what kind of adorable behavior is that? I'm in love!"
"I burst into laughter imagining his professor's reaction—like I just struck it rich there and then!"
"Speaking of which, weren't many smart and beautiful women at our campus crushing on the Genius? Tonight's going to be a sleepless night for them!"
"I don't get it. Why wouldn't Kenny marry a hyper-intelligent beauty? The gene pool collision could have given us a new Einstein. Such a waste!"
"I think so too. The woman looks average, cute but just a tad bit!"
"Hold on, someone in my other group recognized the lady!" Another person chimed in, dropping several screenshots, "She's an alumna from UCL, graduated with honors, and she's older than the Genius!!"
The forum exploded again.
"So much older? The Genius has a thing for older women??"
"Just look at how he constantly shows off photos of his wife—it's a classic younger-man infatuation with an older woman!"
"I can't believe it. The Genius went for an older woman! Almost in her thirties, right? She'd be considered advanced maternal age for childbirth, wouldn't she? She looks innocent and adorable; wonder what tricks she used to snag the Genius!!"
"Does anyone know the Genius? Someone go talk some sense into him!"
As the forum went into an uproar, Aurora posted: Quite lively in here. The Genius got married? That's fantastic news.
"Look who's here, another Genius!" someone exclaimed. "Hey, Aurora. I heard you're heading overseas for your career."
Aurora mentioned in the group chat, "Yeah, many of us have been heading back recently. I'm in Bay City, and our Whiz Kid is there, too. Maybe we should stop by and catch up? Celebrate for the Whiz Kid and exchange contacts and resources."

The host promptly replied, "Good idea. I'll chat with Kenny tomorrow."

Aurora replied, "Looking forward to meeting up with everyone in person!"

After sending the message, Aurora clicked on the host's profile to send a private message: "Lay, I've only debated with the whiz a few times; we're not that close. Best if you don't mention it was my idea."

She followed up with another: "Since he's married now, if he goes to gatherings with the girls' group, I'm a bit worried his wife might not be thrilled."

"Got it, I understand!" Lay texted back quickly, "I'll sort it out and give you an update."

"Cool, I'll wait for your message."

Annoyed, Aurora tossed her phone aside, unable to sleep. Impulsively, she went for a walk and found herself near Kenny's house by chance.

Whether it was good luck or not, she couldn't say. She had no more than arrived when she spotted Kenny and Thalassa, hand in hand, walking towards her from another direction.

As they reached Kenny's doorstep, he pulled Thalassa in for an intense, passionate kiss. Kenny was always all in, whatever he did. That included love; Aurora could feel his genuine happiness even from a distance. She pictured his eyes soft and tender, his smile lifting joyously.

Meanwhile, Kenny was kissing Thalassa breathlessly before finally letting her go. Thalassa gasped for air, then looked at him seriously, "Kenny, may I ask a somewhat bold question?"

He nodded with a smile and planted another kiss on her lips.

Blushing, Thalassa covered his mouth to stop him, thinking he loved kissing a bit too much.

"You want to kiss me here when we're about to enter the house, but there's no one else inside. Tell me, do you have a thing for being affectionate in public?" Thalassa asked, leaning back, serious.

Kenny paused for a moment, then couldn't suppress a muffled chuckle.

Thalassa usually found it easy to laugh, and his laughter was contagious. She couldn't help but join in.

"Stop laughing! I'm serious here!" She insisted, needing to understand her partner's preferences.

"Mrs. Walker, once we're inside, it'll be just the two of us," Kenny said with an intense gaze that was almost burning.
Thalassa was far from being a naive kid, and when Kenny hinted at something, Thalassa caught on immediately.

"What... what's the issue with the two of us?" Thalassa tried to sound brave. "You think you scare me or something?"

Kenny looked at her, gently pulled down the hand she had over her mouth, and embraced her, his nose nuzzling softly by her ear.

Then, Thalassa heard Kenny's voice, "But I'm scared..."

They are scared of losing control.
She scared that in a moment of impulse, she might regret it later.
If that happened, the tender relationship they'd barely built would crumble to pieces.

Thalassa returned to her room.
She flopped onto the bed, her mind hazy.
Kenny's words echoed repeatedly: "But I'm scared."
"What's he scared of?" Thalassa stared at the ceiling, puzzled, and then gave her chest a frustrated squeeze.
She knew she had a great figure.
Tossing and turning in bed, Thalassa couldn't make sense of it.

Kenny took a couple of cold showers.
He sat down to respond to a flood of messages.
His mother had sent over seventy messages.

"Kenny, my good boy, you've done well!"
"She's adorable; our family's tough gene could sure use a little softening! (No pressure, though—it's completely up to my daughter-in-law whether she wants kids or not.)"
"When are you bringing Thalassa home? Mom's starting to miss her already!"

Seven or eight missed voice calls followed this.
"Kenny, don't take my baby to those street food stands; they're not clean. Tell me what she likes, and I'll have the chef prepare something with that street food vibe!"
