Chapter 553 Found Him

Burl was socially inept, and Mike had completely dismissed Chicago's claim. After all, Stuart had vanished across the ocean, and no matter how Mike racked his brain, it seemed impossible that Stuart could show up in Bay City. That's why Mike had simply kept comforting Chicago and hadn't initiated an actual search.

Once Fiona was involved, however, it didn't take long to confirm the identity of the man Chicago had seen.

"This is a boat worker; he was brought in by his colleagues and the police about a month and a half ago, still unconscious. It took over a week in the hospital before he came to," the doctor said, flipping through the man's file.

"Name unknown?" Fiona frowned.

"It seems they didn't know his name, and he himself had hit his head. When he woke up, he'd lost his previous memories and didn't know his own name either," the doctor explained.

Fiona and Darwin exchanged a glance.

What a coincidence, a boat worker with amnesia.

From the information the unidentified man had left, Fiona found a phone number and immediately called it.

After a brief silence, a busy signal came through.

Fiona dialed again.

The situation was the same.

She decided not to call anymore and stood up. "Let's go to the address listed in the records."

"Chelsea, are you planning to go there personally?" Mike asked, astonished.

He had just checked out that address.

It was in the slums on the Bay city side, a place with a complex mix of people.

"Yes," Fiona said and then walked straight over to Chicago, who had been soothed by her father for a while and was gradually calming down.

"Mommy, did you find Uncle Stuart?" Chicago looked up at Fiona with teary eyes, looking pitifully adorable.

Fiona squatted down and gently touched her cheek, "Babu, can you give me a bit more time? Go home with your brother first. Grandma was worried not seeing you at home."

Chicago sniffled, then obediently nodded her head.

Janna wasn't in the best of health; Chicago knew they couldn't worry her.

"Chicago, when you get home, don't talk about seeing Uncle Stuart with Grandma for now, okay? We'll discuss it once I find him. Alright?"

Chicago nodded her head.

"My baby is so good!" Fiona kissed her once more.

Before long, Burl took Charles and Chicago back home.

Darwin looked at Fiona. "Should we take Chicago to see a psychologist?"

Fiona was silent for a moment. "Let's find this person first. Chicago is different from other kids. She has a remarkable talent for drawing and a unique perspective and judgment on many things."

Before Fiona could finish, Darwin asked, "Do you really think that Chicago saw Stuart?"

Fiona had just had someone investigate.

The crew member who had brought in the unidentified boat worker typically served aboard a cruise ship traversing global waters. Remarkably, this cruise ship had recently passed through the nearby waters around the time of Stuart's accident.

While Fiona acknowledged the remote possibility of Stuart surviving such an ordeal and being rescued by a crew member from that specific ship, she was compelled to investigate further. Even if the odds were infinitesimal, perhaps as slim as one in ten million, she felt a need to explore every avenue in search of answers.

"Whether it's him or not, we'll find out once we see the person. Even if it isn't, it'll at least give Chicago closure," Fiona replied.

Darwin didn't say much else.

Together with Fiona, they followed the address from their information.

None of the group, including Theodore Hawthorne, were locals.

Although the salary was quite good on the ship, everyone wanted to save more money to take back home.

Besides, they spent little time on land.

So, it just made sense to rent cheap, small rooms in the slums, where they occasionally returned to touch base.

"To celebrate our Sebastian Montgomery's full recovery, let's polish off this bottle!" Several sailors gathered together, cooking up mushroom soup and hoisting beer bottles in the air.

Sebastian, the one being celebrated, smiled shyly. "Thanks to you guys, otherwise I wouldn't have made it. As soon as I recover my memory and find my family, I will definitely repay you all!"

"Cut out the formalities!" Theodore waved his hand. "Just pitch in with the work on the ship tomorrow."

Sebastian had lost his memory and couldn't find his family.

They were all about to set sail again, this time for at least three months, and no one felt comfortable leaving the memory-less, dazed Sebastian alone in Bay City.

After much persuasion, the captain finally agreed to let him get on the ship to do odd jobs, though his salary wouldn't be as high as the others.

"This food isn't enough, I'm going to go buy some filet mignon or something," Theodore said, seeing the food on the table was almost gone, and decided to buy more.

"Theodore, I'll go with you," Sebastian got up as well.

"No need, it's just a few steps away, just wait here!"

With that, Theodore hurriedly ran outside.

In a short while, Theodore arrived at the supermarket downstairs.

He picked out several large pieces of filet mignon and lamb chops after some careful selection.

"Buddy, you guys are setting sail again, aren't you?" the owner chatted with Theodore while cutting meat.

Theodore laughed heartily. "Yeah, I'm afraid after setting sail, we'll miss the taste from your place, so I decided to buy extra to fill the guys up."

As they talked, several luxury cars gradually parked along the road behind them.

The owner craned his neck. "Wow, who's the big shot coming to our humble place?"

Theodore also turned around curiously.

From the middle black sedan, a tall, handsome man got out first, followed by a very beautiful woman.

"Maybe it's a film star here for a movie shoot?" Theodore suggested, looking around. "But I don't see any cameras..."

Several tall and burly men in black suits got out of the cars, and they looked like they were not the type to be trifled with.

"Kid, it's better not to stare; these guys seem like the type you don't want to mess with," the store owner warned Theodore when he noticed his interest.

Theodore realized this too and quickly looked away.

As the store owner was swiftly cutting meat and preparing the seasoning for Theodore's order, the group approached them.

"Excuse me," a beautiful woman at the front of the group asked the store owner with a friendly attitude, "could you tell me the way to Building 7?"

Theodore was surprised.

They were looking for his building.

"It's that way, the second building straight down!" the store owner quickly replied.

"Thank you," the woman acknowledged with a nod before turning to leave.

However, the next second, her gaze fell on Theodore.

Theodore had been glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.

Suddenly, she looked straight at him, causing Theodore to stiffen.

"What's wrong?" the man with her frowned and followed her gaze to Theodore.

"We've found him," the woman softly said, and then addressed Theodore, "Sir, did you happen to accompany a friend to the hospital today?"
