Chapter 1132

"Mrs. Solomon, is something wrong?" Randy asked.

Fiona spoke softly, "It's the first day of school, and I suddenly thought of Ethan. How's he doing?"

"He's doing well. I just talked to his foster family at noon. Everything's fine. Don't worry," Randy quickly replied.

"That's good," Fiona said, lowering her eyes. "Chicago's dad has put a lot of effort into his study abroad plans. I hope he can achieve something."

Randy was taken aback. Darwin had mentioned it to him before. He thought Fiona didn't know about it.

"Rest assured, Ethan has never let anyone down," Randy assured.

Fiona stayed silent.

Randy continued, praising Ethan. He talked about Ethan being underestimated in his first competition but exceeding expectations and winning a medal. He mentioned Ethan taking an important exam while sick and still coming in first.

Fiona listened quietly, her emotions turbulent and complex.

After Randy finished, Fiona finally said, "Ethan is very good. I always knew that. Randy, thank you for keeping an eye on his growth abroad. If you need anything, just let me know."

"You and your husband are amazing!" Randy choked up. "I heard Ethan once saved Chicago's life, but haven't you also changed Ethan's entire life?"

"You're too kind." Fiona lowered her eyes halfway, recalling Ethan's resolute figure at the airport. How did Darwin make Ethan agree to leave?

She didn't want to find out herself. She hung up and went straight upstairs.

Darwin had left the study door half-open, waiting to see when Fiona would come up. As soon as she entered, Darwin came out.

"You talked with Ashton for quite a while today," he said, walking over.

Fiona looked up at him. In Darwin's memory, he had never seen Fiona confront him with such severity..

"What's wrong?" he asked softly.

"How did you force Ethan out?" Fiona asked directly.

Darwin was slightly stunned, then lowered his eyes. "Who told you?"

"I figured it out myself!" Fiona's anger surged. "Answer me, what method did you use to force Ethan away!"

Darwin remained silent.

A chill rose in Fiona's heart. Memories of Darwin's past coercive methods became vivid in her mind. Those threats, the incident where Dagwood's hand was injured, and the negative news about the Rhoads Group.

"He is your daughter's lifesaver! And he's a child! Why did you do this?" Fiona exploded. "Darwin, are you crazy?"

"Because he stayed with Chicago is an unstable factor!" Darwin replied. "I won't allow any unstable factors around you and the kids!"

"Unstable?" Fiona looked at Darwin in shock. "Ethan is an unstable factor? What kind of instability?"

She suddenly thought of the events before Ethan was sent abroad. She looked at Darwin in disbelief. "You can't be referring to the time Chicago sneaked out to play and almost drowned, right?"

"Yes." Darwin kept his eyes lowered. He didn't think he had done anything wrong. But he didn't want to face Fiona's accusations and rage because of an outsider.
