Chapter 567 What's Mine Is Yours

Fiona was amused by Chicago’s antics. Charles blushed slightly. “That's an exaggeration.” He actually wasn't judging anyone during class; most of the time, he was zoning out.

“Alright, have you two siblings come to an agreement? Can we transfer Charles to a new school?” Fiona asked.

“Of course,” Chicago immediately responded.

“Darwin, did you hear that? The rest is up to you,” Fiona turned to look at Darwin.

“Got it, Honey,” Darwin replied.

Chicago rubbed her arms. “You guys are so cheesy!”

“Chicago, you’ve picked up quite a few words since you started school, aren’t you?” Fiona bent down and gently tapped her forehead.

After Chicago enrolled in school, she changed quite a bit. To use Xavier’s words, “I am growing up.”

Thanks to her adorable looks, sweet voice, and pleasant personality, Chicago had been popular since she started school. The incident with Dominic, while resulting in a stern punishment from mom, inadvertently elevated Chicago's status among her peers to a new level.

While Fiona was organizing Chicago’s backpack, she found a note inside that read, “You are a hero.” However, 'hero' was misspelled, and there was a drawing of a superhero next to it. So, Fiona wasn't worried about Chicago being afraid or unable to adjust without Charles at the same school.

“Isn’t school about learning new things?” Chicago said matter-of-factly. “Mommy, do you guys need anything else? I'm really busy, you know…” She gave a serious yet helpless look before pointing toward Stuart.

"Go ahead, go ahead," Fiona waved dismissively.

Chicago hurriedly ran back.

Charles and Fiona exchanged a glance, and Fiona said with a smile, "Your sister has been busy from morning till night, not a moment of rest. All those worries you have are just overthinking."

"That's true," Charles admitted, though he was still a little crestfallen.

Charles and Chicago used to be inseparable.

He didn't quite remember when it started, but she was no longer afraid of the outside world; instead, she was filled with a desire to explore and to face challenges.

After a moment of minor disappointment, Charles felt happy again.

He wanted his sister to be an eagle soaring through the sky, free, powerful, and fearless.

Shortly thereafter, Stuart and Chicago finished their tasks.

They walked back side by side, earnestly discussing something.

Curiosity got the better of Fiona, and she asked, "What are you two whispering about?"

Stuart looked her way. "It's getting colder, and a lot of the seeds aren't germinating. We're thinking about building a greenhouse near Emerald Pool."

"That sounds good, just let the folks at Emerald Pool know so the gardener can get it ready," Fiona suggested.

Chicago shook his head. "Mom, Stuart and I have decided we want to do it ourselves!"

"Do it yourselves?" Fiona was surprised.

"I bought a book!" Stuart scratched his head with a chuckle. "We'll try to do it first, and if it doesn't work out, we'll hire someone."

Who would have thought that Stuart, who used to get dizzy at the sight of books, had become studious, spending every day poring over thick books on agriculture and husbandry.

"Alright then, I look forward to seeing the results."

Darwin made a few phone calls and sorted out Charles's transfer to a new school.

However, since it was for a gifted program and Charles was younger than his classmates, he had to pass a comprehensive science exam before he could be officially enrolled.

"How do you manage to raise such a brilliant child and teach him so well?" Darwin said as he cozied up to Fiona, who had just finished showering.

"Stop sweet-talking me," Fiona said as she tried to pull away Darwin's hand.

However, Darwin didn't let go. He even leaned in for a kiss.

Considering the day hadn't ended too late, Darwin could not pass up the chance to be close to Fiona.

After fulfilling their physical needs, Darwin held Fiona contentedly in his arms. "Let's move to Emerald Pool next month?"

Fiona, tired yet compliant, responded, "You arrange it."

"There's one more thing," Darwin whispered, kissing Fiona's ear. "Fiona, in two days, there's a quarterly meeting at Solomon Energy, and you need to attend."

"Why do I have to attend?" Fiona opened her eyes, puzzled.

"Of course, it's because you are the real power behind Solomon Energy," Darwin replied. "Didn't you read our prenuptial agreement, not a single word?"

"I didn't." Fiona frowned. "What did you write?"

Moments later, Fiona gazed at the two pages of the prenuptial agreement that detailed their financial arrangements.

"Have you lost your mind?" she exclaimed, looking at Darwin in astonishment. "Why don't you just give me the entirety of Solomon Investments?"

Darwin had allocated nearly all his movable and immovable assets to Fiona's name.

"The stock structure of Solomon Energy is rather complex; wait for me to sort it out first," Darwin responded earnestly.

"You actually intend to do that?" Fiona was shocked.

"We're married now. What's mine is yours. Whoever you want to manage it, I'll follow your wishes," Darwin said with a face full of sincerity.

Fiona glanced again at the densely packed two pages. Solomon Energy was listed at the very top.

She suddenly remembered that, when Solomon Energy was first founded, Darwin had planned for her to become the president of Solomon Energy.

"How is Solomon Energy doing these days? Who's the president?" Fiona asked casually, not looking at Darwin.

"Me," Darwin answered.

Fiona looked up at him.

His eyes were slightly red. "We agreed you'd be the president. If you're not here, nobody else even thinks about it."

"Childish," Fiona said, yet she couldn't help but feel an inexplicable sourness in her heart. She and Darwin were entangled far too deeply.

Now, she no longer wanted to argue about who was right or wrong.

"So, will you attend the Solomon Energy meeting?" asked Darwin.

"I'm the boss now, of course, I'll go. How could I not?" Fiona put away the agreement and placed it on the nightstand. "Let's sleep; we still need to take Charles to his exam tomorrow."

Darwin leaned in for a kiss on Fiona's lips and turned off the light. They held each other close, and the chill of the late fall night dissipated in the warmth of their embrace.

Fiona closed her eyes, her fingertips brushing the scar Darwin had sustained last time he saved her. Her heart, tangled for so long, suddenly felt a release.

She had witnessed Darwin's changes more deeply than anyone could. Life was always in flux.

Fiona didn't want to get trapped in worry about what might happen if Lilian Robbins reappeared. If that day ever came, the Fiona of now had enough resources to start over.

So, for now, all she wanted was to enjoy the present, to relish every beautiful, harmonious day.
With that thought, a long-standing tension in Fiona's heart began to ease.

Outside the window, the autumn rain continued, soft and steady.

Fiona slept peacefully through the night, a rare occasion of good rest.
