Chapter 957
After that, Kieran immediately sighed in relief.
Then he said, "Mr. Durham, you like kids so much; you will definitely be a great dad in the future!"
Wyatt just smiled after hearing that. "And it." He touched the cat's head. Wyatt had also thought about taking the kitten with him. But after careful consideration, he found it not that easy. It might even bring great danger to the kitten's life.
The kitten was so adorable. Wyatt couldn't bear to let the kitten meet a tragic end just to accompany him.
Wyatt said, "I've packed up its things. Take Milo to Fiona."
"Mrs. Solomon's yard is big enough to play golf, and there are many small animals. Milo will definitely live well there!" Kieran nodded.
Milo seemed to sense something. It looked up uneasily at Wyatt.
Wyatt touched its head again. "Perhaps Fiona will find a better place for it than Emerald Pool."
Before Kieran could react, he heard from Wyatt. "Alright, I've briefed you on everything. You are officially fired by me now. Focus on your next job."
"Mr. Durham..." Kieran choked out.
Wyatt handed Milo to him without a word and went straight back to the room.
The always stylish Wyatt, while packing his suitcase, only brought a few simple changes of clothes, not even filling a carry-on bag.
The next day, after Wyatt finished the procedures, he sent a message to Fiona while going through security.
Wyatt: [I've entrusted Milo to you. Please find a good home for it so that Stella won’t worry anymore. I've taken care of the things I needed to, and I won't do anything to cause trouble for her again. Take care of yourself and Darwin. Until we meet again.]
Just as Wyatt was about to put away his phone, Fiona replied. Wyatt glanced at it, then turned back in astonishment to saw Fiona standing not far away. His eyes inexplicably welled up. Wyatt strode towards Fiona and asked, "Why are you here? Are you going on a business trip?"
"I'm here to see you off." Fiona had received Milo last night and tearfully recounted Wyatt's decision.
Seven years ago, Wyatt had carefully planned for Fiona's freedom. Seven years later, as he sought the exit for his soul, Fiona should be there to see him off.
"You..." Wyatt rubbed his forehead.
His red eyes were hidden behind sunglasses.
"I hope that next time we meet, you'll have found the answers to life," Fiona sincerely said.
Wyatt nodded. "I will."
"I'll pass Milo on to Stella," Fiona added. "You don't need to worry about it."
Wyatt nodded again, then waved to Fiona. "I should be going."
Fiona said, "Have a pleasant journey, Wyatt."
Wyatt said nothing. He just waved and headed towards the security checkpoint.
Christopher watched Wyatt's back. Then he looked at Fiona. "Why did he suddenly change his mind?"
"If he had really changed his mind, he wouldn't have made this decision," Fiona replied, shifting her gaze away and walking out. "There's a great Mexican restaurant near the airport. My treat!"
"Maybe another time. Now that Wyatt's matters are settled, we should go back, Ms. Woods!" Christopher muttered.
Though Christopher had been apart from Charlotte before, this time felt different. He missed her intensely, yet Charlotte was always busy with little time for video calls.
"You're just a regular person too,” Fiona teased with a smile.
Christopher felt a bit embarrassed. "Don't you miss Chicago and Charles?"
