Chapter 721 Her Eyes Would Be at Risk
How did they suddenly turn against her?
In the hotel.
Darwin slowly descended the stairs, looking at the bloodstains on the ground. It felt like a thousand-pound weight pressing on his chest.
Darwin sat down where Fiona had just been sitting.
He placed his hand where she had placed hers.
Gray came out of her own room and happened to see this scene. Her heart skipped a beat.
Then she walked slowly to Darwin and squatted down in front of him. "Blaise? What's wrong?"
Darwin didn't say anything.
Gray asked with kindness, "You don’t feel well?"
"You were close; did you get a clear look at her injuries?" Darwin hoarsely said, "Are they severe?"
Gray suddenly felt like she was struck by lightning. "Blaise..."
Darwin shook his head. "I haven't regained my memory, but when I was unconscious and spitting blood, I heard everything you guys said."
Gray nervously said, "Mr. Solomon, we didn't mean to deceive you, we..."
"You haven't answered my question," Darwin said in a deep voice, "Are her injuries serious?"
Gray shook her head. "I don't know. She was injured in her right eye. I don't know if it damaged her eyeball."
Darwin suddenly felt dizzy.
Gray panicked. "Are you all right?"
Darwin shook his head. "Tell me when there’s a result."
"Okay, I will!" Gray nodded quickly.
Darwin sat for a moment longer, then slowly stood up. "There's a lot of commotion outside; go take a look. Don't let Aura cause any more trouble."
"What about you?"
Darwin had no intention to continue the conversation with her and went straight back upstairs.
Gray watched Darwin's figure, tears rolling down her cheeks.
They should have avoided him while talking.
What should they do now?
What if he wanted to go back? Aura would be heartbroken.
The standoff outside continued.
Fiona was quickly taken to the nearest hospital.
After an examination, she was luckily unharmed.
"The nerve was just barely avoided!" the doctor exclaimed as he looked at the scans, "If the nerve had been injured, this eye would have been at risk."
Harold's head was spinning as he listened, feeling a lingering fear.
"You must take good care of her when she returns and make sure she doesn't get infected," the doctor advised.
Before Fiona could speak, Harold quickly nodded. "Don't worry, I will take extremely good care of her!"
The doctor smiled and said, "Good husbands like you are rare these days!"
"We are friends," Fiona explained.
The doctor immediately looked embarrassed.
After her medicine was prescribed, Harold and Fiona walked out together.
"Shall I take care of the matters on the island for you? You don't have to go back. Just rest at the hotel. If there's anything you can't handle, we can video chat," Harold cautiously suggested.
"Do you think it's appropriate?" Fiona asked helplessly. "You are the CEO of Teodora Group, and if you are in charge of the Solomon investment, the news will be on the front page of domestic and international news tomorrow. Can you believe it?"
Harold couldn't have asked for more.
"I have a medical team with me, so don't worry," Fiona continued. "It's a good timing to resolve this matter since there’s chaos. I have to go back."
Even Darwin couldn't change Fiona’s decision if she had made up her mind, let alone Harold. Instead of returning overnight, Fiona rested for the night and went to the hospital the next day to change her medication before returning to the island.
Mike was in charge.
The people on the island were on edge because of him.
When they heard that Fiona had returned, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing this, Mike sneered, "Don't think you're safe just because Fionais back. It's not her who will deal with you. It's the Rhoads Family!"
The crowd fell silent.
"Go back and clean up. Go to the activity center. Fiona wants to see all of you! Everyone must be present!" Mike shouted the last few words.
Everyone responded and then ran away as if their lives depended on it, heading toward the outside.
Mike spat, "A bunch of idiots. When I speak nicely, they don't treat me like a person, but now that I'm angry, they all act like scared turtles on the beach!"
Before long, all the registered residents on the island gathered at the activity center.
Although only eight households were here, each family had ten or so members on average.
Fiona walked in with an eye guard on her right eye, and all the islanders stood up. Aura seemed distracted. Aura's gaze fell on Fiona's face. Today, Fiona looked a bit pale and weak but still attractive. Thinking about what Darwin said to her yesterday, Aura felt a pang in her heart.
"Fiona, are you okay?" Lily's grandmother asked tearfully, looking at Fiona. "Your eye isn't damaged, is it?"
Fiona smiled gently. "I'm fine. If you're going to fight again, please don't bring your kid. It was very dangerous. If she had fallen and someone stepped on her, the consequences would have been severe."
Such a young child was the most delicate. They could easily get internal injuries.
"Don't worry, don't worry. I've learned my lesson. I won't fight anymore!" Lily's grandmother hastily assured.
Fiona nodded and then sat down.
"Why is everyone so afraid?" Fiona glanced at everyone and then turned to Mike. "Did you scare them?"
"The old lady said to find the bastard who hurt you!" Mike replied very straightforwardly.
"Did you find him?" Fiona asked.
Mike's face was immediately livid, "It seems like they're protecting each other. No one has told the truth!"
Upon hearing this, everyone objected, "Sir, even if you don't like us, you can't use foul language!"
"Yeah, during yesterday's chaos, we were only focused on the person we wanted to fight. How could we pay attention to other fights?"
"Fiona, please believe us. We have no ill intentions toward you!"
Everyone spoke all at once.
Fiona saw that the atmosphere had calmed down. She made a stopping gesture, and slowly, the scene quieted down.
Fiona reassured, "There was indeed chaos yesterday. I will explain the situation to my grandmother, and there won't be any trouble for you."
The islanders instantly felt relieved, as if they had been pardoned. They all breathed a sigh of relief. They were once again grateful to Fiona.
Fiona remained silent, and the islanders gradually quieted down after a while.
"I called you all here not because of my injury." Fiona gently tapped on the table with her fingers.
"You’ve caused commotion for so long. When I listened to your arguments yesterday, I realized that someone among you also had thoughts of leaving. On the day I arrived on this island, I made my stance clear. Based on what you have done during this time, regardless of the verdict on coral preservation, it will not change the fact that you must leave the island." "
