Chapter 1312

"Your buddies are all slowly paying back the money, but none of them owe as much as you do, Uncle Lucian," Wyatt said, looking down, deep in thought. "With the amount you have, once it's seized, you'll be spending the rest of your life in prison. And trust me, I'll make sure to tell your story at the family grave."

"Wyatt!" Lucian pounded his chest in frustration.

Wyatt's face stayed stone-cold.

People with weaknesses were destined to fail.

"You've got 48 hours to sort out the money in your accounts. I'll have the legal team draft the share transfer agreement for you," Wyatt said calmly. "Miss the deadline, and even if you come begging with the shares and money, I won't give you a second glance."

He paused. "Oh, and don't bother going to my parents. It's useless. My dad's got no brotherly feelings for you anymore, just disgust."

With that, Wyatt turned to his assistant and said, "Get the marketing department to the main conference room for a meeting."

"Yes, Mr. Durham."

Wyatt had no intention of listening to Lucian's outburst.

Lucian might not fear death, but he definitely feared losing face in front of the Durham group's ancestors.

He wasn't even allowed to bear the Durham name, yet he cared so much about what a bunch of dead people thought.

Wyatt didn't get it, but he was pretty satisfied.

Wouldn't this let him control Lucian?

Even though Wyatt had secured many deals on his own reputation, which could temporarily ease the Durham group's immediate crisis, the company had been gutted and was on the brink of collapse.

There was so much he needed to do.

Wyatt wasn't sure if the Durham group could survive.

He had to give it his all.

Not long after, news came from home.

Lucian had indeed gone to The Durham Mansion.

He even pleaded with Arabella, hoping she could persuade Wyatt to spare him.

Arabella had always seen Lucian as a disgrace.

There was no way she would help him.

Not only was Lucian turned away, but he was also humiliated by Arabella's butler.

Lucian then went to see Gideon.

Gideon also refused to see him, only sending out a message: "As a brother, I've done my best. It was you who let me down!"

Hearing this, Lucian lost it and cursed at the entrance of The Durham Mansion.

He eventually went home and sat in silence the entire night.

That night, he thought about his childhood, the first time he went to The Durham Mansion, hiding behind Sapphira, timidly looking at a room full of elegantly dressed people.

Their gazes were sharp.

He heard someone say, "So dark and short, how could he be a Durham?"

Another said, "A bastard, disgusting, his blood is dirty!"

That day was also the first time he saw Gideon.

Sapphira said that was his brother, Gideon.

He was dressed impeccably, very clean, coming down the stairs with such elegance and beauty, just like the people Lucian had seen on TV.

Those people immediately changed their attitude upon seeing Gideon.

They promptly had him and Sapphira thrown out of the luxurious living room.

The wind in the capital city that day was cold.

Lucian stood outside, locking eyes with Gideon through the window.

His hatred began to grow from that moment.
