Chapter 1117
Zachary felt a chill under Fiona's intense stare. He knew he messed up and had no one to blame but himself. With no other option, he decided to come clean. He pulled out his phone and played a recorded call. The president's office was dead silent.
When the recording ended, Zachary smirked at Fiona and turned to Darwin. "Mr. Solomon, besides this call, I also have text messages from Mrs. Solomon's people."
"Zachary, I thought you had a recording with Mrs. Solomon herself," Henry cut in. "Just because someone says they're from Mrs. Solomon on the phone, does that prove anything? This could all be your own fabrication!"
"I did not!" Zachary snapped, getting agitated.
"Then how can you prove the person you talked to is connected to me?" Fiona asked. "Logically, if you could become a shareholder of the Solomons, you shouldn't be this foolish. After the call, didn't you try to verify its authenticity?"
Zachary's face twitched. "Who else could have Mr. Solomon's medical records besides those close to him?"
"That makes some sense," Fiona nodded, then looked at Darwin. "What do you think, Mr. Solomon?"
Darwin looked up at Fiona, his demeanor softening. "Why waste time on such an idiot? Just handle it as it should be."
Hearing this, Zachary and the others' faces turned pale.
Zachary wanted to speak something, but Elijah, who was slumped on the ground, spoke first. "Mr. Solomon! Mrs. Solomon! I was forced into this. I did nothing wrong. Zachary coerced me into helping him suppress Mr. Solomon! They dragged me into this, trying to profit from the Solomons' influence. I was foolishly misled and just got involved. I haven't earned a penny, and Zachary used that to threaten me. I had no choice. Mr. Solomon, please give me another chance. I won't dare do it again!"
Zachary wished he could kick Elijah but couldn't waste time on that now. He said, "Mr. Solomon, I really made this mistake under Mrs. Solomon's orders."
"During the meeting, even when you just came in, you seemed very certain that I had indeed lost my memory," Darwin said, looking at him. "It seems you did investigate before the shareholders' meeting, right?"
Zachary's face darkened.
Darwin added, "You should have been more thorough and investigated why I returned to the company so quickly."
"Why?" Zachary asked instinctively.
"Because my wife urged me to," Darwin said with obvious pride. "If she really wanted to take over the Solomons, it would be a simple matter. Why would she need to collude with an idiot like you?"
Zachary's ears buzzed.
"No, wait," Darwin suddenly thought of something and immediately corrected himself.
Zachary's eyes brightened, thinking Darwin had realized something.
However, Darwin said unexpectedly, "Strictly speaking, the Solomons already belong to her."
Fiona looked at the three of them and spread her hands helplessly. "It seems Mr. Solomon trusts me completely. Do you have any other evidence?"
Zachary's mind was now in complete chaos. If it wasn't Fiona, then who? Who was so intent on driving Darwin out of the Solomons? And who was so concerned about Fiona's interests?
Zachary's mind raced. Then, he turned to Henry, who looked at him with utter disdain.
