Chapter 967

Alexander knew why Fiona went back to the Bay City. It wasn't hard to guess where the kitten she brought back came from.
Stella drooped her head and sat down next to Alexander. "When I was little, I always wanted a kitten of my own, but... Adam's wife was terrified of furry animals. As I grew up and my life became unstable, I didn't want a kitten to suffer with me, so I just fed stray cats and made donations. A couple of years ago, I really thought Wyatt and I were going to settle down, and I kept asking for a kitten..." As Stella spoke, she paused, realizing something was off. She looked up, her eyes unfocused and confused. "Why didn’t I get a kitten just because Wyatt said no?"
"Because you respected him," Alexander comforted her. "Just like how you love Milo now but didn't immediately bring him home without consulting me; You respect me, too."
Stella seemed instantly comforted, and all her confusion and frustration vanished. "Is that so?"
It wasn't about pleasing someone or feeling inferior. It was about respect!
"Of course." Alexander patted her head, his eyes half-closed, hiding the pain he felt for Stella. "So, have you thought of any convincing reasons to persuade me this morning?"
Stella immediately sat up straight. She repeated the same logic she had told Fiona to Alexander.
After hearing it, Alexander immediately laughed.
"That's right. Wyatt didn't like cats at all. He complained about the shedding and the litter. But cats do shed, and people use the bathroom too! He only got the kitten because of me, so Milo was meant to be mine all along!" Stella said.
Alexander kept laughing. Stella lunged forward and pinched his cheeks. "Stop laughing! Are you going to let me keep it or not? Tell me now!"
Alexander grabbed Stella's hands and nodded with a smile. "Yes, we'll keep Milo. Milo was so young when it left its mother and has been through so much before finding you. How could we not keep him?"
Stella's eyes sparkled. With Alexander's words, she realized she liked Milo even more!
"Is that so?" she asked.
Alexander nodded.
"No wonder it cusses me out when it sees me!" Stella joyfully hugged Alexander. "Alex, you're so good to me!"
Alexander gently stroked Stella's slender back. "Let's pick him up together. It's not fair to keep him taking over Jessie bed."
"Okay!" Stella nodded vigorously.
Then she got up, cupped Alexander's face, and showered him with uncoordinated kisses. Stella had lipstick on. Alexander's fair face was covered in lip prints.
Then Stella laughed and used makeup remover to clean his face. After she finished, she kissed him again, but this time only on the lips.
From keeping his composure to being visibly flustered and blushing, Alexander was overwhelmed. If it weren't broad daylight, the plan to get Milo would have been postponed.
Alexander calmed his breathing, burying his head in Stella's neck. "I've decided. I'll treat Milo like royalty from now on." Alexander's voice, filled with a teasing smile, whispered in Stella's ear. Stella almost laughed out loud.
After dawdling for a while, Stella and Alexander finally went to pick up Milo.
When they arrived, Milo was showing off its food. It opened its mouth wide, seemingly able to eat a quarter of the food at once. Then Stella grabbed him by the scruff of his neck.
Milo was astonished.
It was during lunchtime that Chicago finished her exam.
