Chapter 671 It Was Her Duty.
Chicago didn't understand.
Chicago hadn't seen his parents all day today and had just fallen asleep after having a terrifying nightmare.
She was still confused.
Chicago stood still and didn't move.
Sabre was afraid that Charlotte would call for help.
Sabre took out a dagger directly and rushed toward Charlotte.
Little did he know that the slim little girl also rushed toward him, raising her tiptoes and kicking Sabre with both feet.
Sabre never expected that such a small child would have such explosive strength.
Sabre didn't have time to be prepared.
In addition, they were on the stairs, so he lost his balance and fell backward.
He would have embarrassed himself if it weren't for his strong core strength.
"Who was there!" A man's angry roar suddenly came from the first floor.
"Uncle Stuart, he's a killer. He wants to kill Chicago!" Charlotte immediately shouted.
Charlotte didn't dare to make a sound just now because she didn't know what was happening outside. Several killers had come, and only a few security guards were left in the house.
Charlotte heard Stuart's voice now. After confirming that Stuart was fine, Charlotte breathed a sigh of relief.
"Damn it!" Sabre cursed.
Sabre had no intention of dealing with the man who rushed to the first floor.
Like lightning, he charged upstairs again.
Even if Sarbe could only kill one before he died, he would still have completed a part of his mission!
"You're looking for death!" Seeing this, Charlotte pulled out her own dagger from behind.
After a few quick moves, Charlotte could see that she was about to lose.
Suddenly, all the lights in the dimly lit villa turned on.
Sabre's vision blurred.
Charlotte took the opportunity to swipe her dagger toward Sarbe's eyes fiercely.
Then, with one kick, Charlotte kicked him downstairs.
She landed gracefully herself.
Then she saw Stuart kick Sabre in the back, grab his hair, and drag him down the stairs to the first floor.
Because the lights inside suddenly turned on, the security guards outside realized something was wrong and quickly entered the house.
Charlotte stood in front of Chicago. Seeing so many people coming, she realized that the crisis was over and dropped the dagger in her hand.
"Sister Charlotte!" Chicago exclaimed.
Stuart, who was downstairs, heard the sound and hurriedly ran upstairs.
"Miss!" Stuart was answering a phone call from Burl.
Unexpectedly, the killer had managed to infiltrate at this critical moment!
"What's wrong, Charlotte?" Chicago asked in a panic.
Chicago hadn't yet processed what had just happened.
"I'm fine. He was too strong, and my hand went numb!" Charlotte said, clutching her wrist.
Charlotte looked across the room.
Charles stood there with a furrowed brow, watching the killer restrained downstairs.
Perhaps it was the telepathic connection between twins. Charles sensed that Chicago was crying, so he decided to go to her room to check on her.
But when Charles came out, he saw Charlotte fighting with someone, with the afterimages of their blows.
Charles had known about the events of this period.
Today, their parents had been out all day and had not returned or called, which worried Charles.
Watching Charlotte being overpowered, that man was ruthless. Every move seemed to be aimed at killing Charlotte.
Without hesitation, Charles decisively used his smartwatch to turn on all the lights in the house.
This created an opportunity for Charlotte to counterattack.
"Stuart!" Someone downstairs shouted to Stuart, "Mike has been attacked!"
"You stay with them. I'll go take a look!" Charlotte grabbed Stuart's arm and quickly ran downstairs herself.
When Charlotte saw Mike, his face had lost all color, and there was blood all over the floor.
"He's still alive. Get him to the emergency room first." Charlotte examined Mike's wounds, which matched the dagger held by the killer.
It seemed that the killer had ambushed Mike, obtained his room card, and then infiltrated.
On the other end of the phone, Charlotte succinctly explained the situation to Christopher.
Christopher felt a sense of fear.
What if Charlotte hadn't moved to that place, or if Christopher hadn't instructed her to stick close to Miss today?
The consequences would have been unimaginable.
"Charlotte, you did well. When I return, I will reward you properly!" Christopher said earnestly. "But for now, do not let your guard down. Until I bring madam back, you must continue to be vigilant and protect Miss and Young Master!"
"I understand!"
The call ended.
Charlotte watched as everyone hurriedly took Mike to the emergency room.
Then she quickly ran back to the villa.
The white marble floor was stained red with the killer's blood.
Sabre's eyes had become blind, and blood continued to flow from his eyes.
Being held down, Sabre trembled in pain and kept howling.
Charlotte simply glanced at Sabre coldly.
Charlotte quickly went upstairs.
Stuart brought Chicago and Charles back to their rooms. Outside Chicago's room, Charlotte saw Ethan, the young teacher who lived on the first floor.
Ethan's face turned pale.
"Ethan, the bad guys have been caught, so you don't have to worry. Go rest," Charlotte said, then went to knock on Chicago's door.
"Who was he here to kill?" Ethan asked.
Charlotte glanced at Ethan. "It couldn't possibly be both of us."
Ethan had his answer.
Stuart opened the door.
Upon seeing Charlotte, he was full of gratitude. "Charlotte, thanks to you today, otherwise..."
After that, "otherwise," Stuart choked up.
Stuart couldn't imagine what he would do if something happened to Chicago and Charles right under his nose.
"I exist to protect Chicago and Charles." Charlotte felt uneasy under Stuart's gaze. "Don't cry, okay?"
When Stuart had just carried Chicago and Charles back to the room, he had already cried.
"I'm going in," Charlotte said again, then looked at Ethan. "Are you going in too, Ethan?"
Ethan shook his head.
Ethan went downstairs again.
The man who had been held downstairs had disappeared, and the servants were cleaning up the blood on the floor.
"I just checked the surveillance footage. Charlotte reacted too quickly, and she was so brave. After seeing the assassin, she rushed out like an arrow," Stuart said.
"Absolutely. If it weren't for Charlotte buying time, by the time Stuart arrived, the young miss and young master wouldn't have escaped tonight," one of the bodyguards replied.
Ethan lowered his head and walked back to his room.
Ethan happened to overhear the frightened conversation between the two bodyguards.
He didn't expect that the one who saved Chicago and Charles was the girl he thought was dangerous.
Ethan thought again.
What would have happened if it was him with Chicago and Charles at that time?
Ethan fell into silence.
Needless to say, the three of them would all be doomed.
While Ethan was lost in thoughts, Charlotte entered Chicago's room.
When Chicago saw her, she quickly approached and held her hand. "How is Uncle Mike?"
"He got a little hurt and went to the hospital," Charlotte replied.
Tears filled Chicago's eyes.
"Why isn't Mommy and Daddy back home yet!" she turned to Charles and asked, "Did brother call them?"
Charles sent messages to both Fiona and Darwin.
But it was all in vain.
Charles vaguely sensed that something was not right.
