Chapter 618 Answering the Questions Online

Amid the growing anticipation and questions, the seventh engineer finally spoke up.

"Allow me to address some of your questions first," he said.

The barrage of comments on the screen persisted.

Then, in a deliberate manner, the seventh engineer began, "I mastered addition and subtraction a long time ago."

The screen momentarily froze before inundating once more with question marks.

[Is Charles trying to be funny?]

[No, guys, he's responding to questions raised online yesterday.]

Without hesitation, the seventh engineer raised his phone, aimed it at the screen, and indicated the math problem.

"The answer is 61. I've also responded to your queries in the comments section," he announced.

Following his answer, Charles paused briefly.

"I enjoy computer games as a hobby, but I've also been dedicated to my studies," he added.

At this point, many still perceived the child's presence as mere jest.

However, perceptions shifted as the seventh engineer began adeptly addressing technical queries flooding the screen.

Charles spoke slowly, but his explanations were clear and concise, making technical matters easy to understand.

Gradually, the skepticism and ridicule in the comments dissipated.

[What in the world?]

[Interesting.]

[Is this for real? He just solved a problem I couldn't on my exam. How did he know?]

This exchange continued for about ten minutes before the seventh engineer paused.

"My Q&A session is about to begin," Sebastian chimed in cheerfully.

"I said something yesterday—never underestimate people. There's much about this world you're yet to comprehend. Charles joined our core team not due to his parents' influence. In fact, his mother is right beside us. Feel free to ask if she and Mr. Solomon have ever been to our department," he said.

Amid laughter, Fiona, off-screen, confirmed, "No, whenever we fetched the kid, we had to wait outside."

Continuing, Sebastian clarified, "We initially kept the seventh engineer's identity concealed to protect the child. However, due to numerous impostors deceiving people, we felt compelled to provide an explanation."

In the deluge of comments, netizens vehemently referenced Lucas. "He's talking about you, impostor."

Lucas himself tuned into the livestream, contemplating the potential counterattacks he might face.

Yet, he never anticipated that the seventh engineer would indeed be Darwin's son—and so young at that.

Lucas swiftly dismissed the notion that Charles was the seventh engineer, commenting, "That was clever. I nearly fell for it. A six-year-old as the seventh engineer!"

Charles glanced at the username.

Lucas sought attention with another message, [Sebastian, you're quite the joker. To appease the Old Money, you've admitted your skills don't match a six-year-old's!]

After his message, Lucas continued, [Sebastian, please answer. Do you admit that your abilities are inferior to a six-year-old's? If so, I salute you!]

Lucas's comments plunged the comments section into chaos once more.

Initially, the creators engaged in harmonious discourse, but upon witnessing this, they fell silent, frowning.

Sebastian was about to interject when Charles interjected abruptly. "Mr. Lucas, first of all, I'm not as remarkable as you claim. SolomonAI is the result of six years of Sebastian's leadership. My role merely accelerated its development by identifying flaws they would've discovered eventually."

Pausing momentarily, Charles continued, "Regarding my age, if you don't mind, I would be delighted to engage you in a challenge."

Sebastian chuckled immediately, joined by the others.

The comments section buzzed with confusion.

Sebastian clarified, "Apologies, it's an inside joke. Our Engineer 7 once bested our entire department, including myself, in a game. Three times in a row."

Lucas, at his computer, sneered, "Is Sebastian still playing games?" Directing his response to Charles, he challenged, "Kid, don't cry too hard when you lose, alright?"

Charles remained calm as he asked Lucas, "Are you satisfied with your AI creation?"

"Of course," Lucas replied.

"Then let's play this game," Charles suggested.

With a slight movement of his eyes, Charles tapped on the keyboard a few times. "I have sent you an encrypted domain name. Within half an hour, I will crack your AI module, and you will crack my domain name password. Are you up for it?"

"Half an hour? Kid, where does that confidence come from?" Lucas asked.

"My abilities give me confidence," Charles answered.

Witnessing Charles's unwavering confidence, Lucas began to feel a hint of unease creeping in. He inquired, "I'm curious, are you handling this solo, or have you enlisted the assistance of another skilled individual?" If it was Sebastian leading a team, Lucas might really be defeated.

"I will livestream the entire process," Charles responded.

This assurance eased Lucas’s worries. Shortly after, Charles addressed the others, saying, “To avoid interfering with the livestreams of other teachers, I will leave for now.”

Sebastian and the others quickly chimed in, “Go ahead. We won’t shut down our stream. We will provide explanations for everyone while watching your livestream.”

"Thank you, Sebastian," Charles replied politely.

Then, Charles turned toward his side and adopted a gentler tone, becoming more endearing. "Mommy, I'm ready now."

"Okay."

Truth to be told, Fiona was seething with anger as she watched Lucas taunt Charles. However, Charles remained composed, which greatly calmed Fiona down.

The livestream on their end was ended, and soon Charles started his own livestream.

Meanwhile, on the opposing side, Lucas showed no signs of retreat and commenced his own livestream. Moreover, without any pleasantries, Lucas directly requested to connect with Charles.

Charles calmly accepted the request.

Once connected, Lucas wasted no time in hurling insults, remarking, "Kid, if you lose later, don't cry too hard, okay?"

"Likewise," Charles replied.

Upon hearing Charles's response, angered netizens burst into laughter.

[Wow, he's intriguing, this cold and handsome little lad!]

[Lucas must be losing his mind. He thought he could win!]

[You guys need a reality check; he's just six years old!]

[He's amazing, but besides his skills, he's quite handsome for his age! The epitome of talent!]

As chatter filled the screen, the challenge reached its 17th minute.

With a serious expression, Lucas typed furiously on his keyboard, sweat glistening on his forehead.

Meanwhile, Charles ceased typing at precisely seventeen minutes and three seconds, his expression composed.
