Chapter 1205
Burl was taken aback for a second, then instinctively glanced at Ashton. Seeing the tears in Ashton's eyes, he turned back to Fiona, shocked.
"How did this happen?" Burl suddenly stood up.
"Keep it down!" Ashton tugged at him.
Burl felt a chill run down his spine. He remembered a woman from his village who went mad after her daughter was kidnapped and found dead.
Burl still remembered that a well-educated elder in the village said the woman had suffered too much trauma and developed schizophrenia.
He couldn't picture Darwin in that scenario. No way. Darwin had already caused Fiona so much pain; he couldn't have such a disease!
"Dawn's breaking," Burl rubbed his face. "Charles and Chicago will wake up soon. If no one's home, they'll freak out. I need to get back now."
With that, Burl rushed to the elevator.
Ashton wanted to call out to him, but Fiona held her hand. "It's okay, let him have a break."
Ashton looked at Fiona, feeling heartbroken.
"In a while, you should go back with Kenny and help me take Charles and Chicago to school. They'll be very happy if you take them."
"Let Kenny go; I'll stay with you!" Ashton said, her voice choked with tears.
"When the meds wear off, Darwin will wake up. I need to talk to him. It's better if you're not here," Fiona gently rubbed Ashton's hand. "Don't worry, I won't hide anything from you."
"But what if he attacks you again?" Ashton avoided looking at Fiona's neck.
"Mike and Christopher are here; it'll be fine."
Ashton pressed her lips tightly but couldn't resist Fiona's insistence. After Kenny arranged for someone to come back, he took Ashton away under Fiona's urging.
Not long after, Mike came running with some medicine. "Chelsea, drink this. It'll soothe your throat. Apply this ointment to your neck later; it helps with bruising."
Fiona took a sip, and the cool liquid soothed her burning throat, bringing considerable relief.
She looked up at Mike: "Why were you there today?"
Mike should have been on vacation.
"After watching that video, I couldn't rest easy," Mike said. "I've been secretly keeping an eye on Mr. Solomon. After he left Emerald Pool, I followed him. After all, the video I found captured the strange events that occurred when he ran out for no reason."
Fiona didn't say anything and took a few more sips of the medicine.
Mike was silent for a moment: "Mr. Solomon went to the Window of Art Museum."
Fiona's hand froze.
"I waited outside for about ten minutes, and Mr. Solomon came out with a grim face," Mike frowned. "Even in the dark, I noticed blood on his hands."
Fiona's pupils trembled: "He didn't have any external injuries."
Mike looked at Fiona with a complicated expression, "It was Xavier."
"Xavier?" Fiona's face turned pale. "What happened to him?"
"He was stabbed. When I went in, he was still conscious and told me what happened."
Shortly after Fiona and Burl had departed from Emerald Pool, Darwin received a call from Rex, who was crying and surrounded by noise.
Darwin initially planned to go himself but remembered Fiona's words not to see Rex again. So, he called Xavier instead.
