Chapter 772 Disappearance!

"Then, let's hold a press conference!" Darwin said in a deep voice. "I'll be there in person, and everyone will see for themselves whether I'm alive or dead."

After finding Darwin, he was mostly gentle. He rarely lost his temper. Fiona lowered her eyes and thought for a moment. "That's a good idea," she said.

"Don't worry," Darwin said, squeezing Fiona's hand. "Prepare the statement in advance, and the media will send their people. No one will notice that I've lost my memory."

Fiona looked up at him and smiled. "I'm not worried about that. I was thinking that once you've recovered a bit, you can deal with those people outside."

"I can do it," Darwin said softly, determination in his voice.

"Well, let's go home!" Fiona got out of the car halfway and bought what Thalassa liked to eat.

As soon as they arrived home, they saw several police officers. The officers were also shocked to see Darwin and Fiona standing side by side.

"You're here because of Mr. Solomon Sr., right?" Fiona asked gently. "I'm sorry for the trouble."

"You're being too polite, Fiona," the leading officer said with a friendly smile. "We've seen Mr. Solomon Jr., so we can report back now."

"My husband's health hasn't fully recovered yet. I was planning to let him recuperate for a while. Since it's come to this, we'll hold a press conference to respond to Mr. Solomon Sr.'s doubts. However, please pass on to Mr. Solomon Sr. that my husband has no intention of meeting him."

"Why?" the officer asked after a moment's thought.

"He took advantage of my illness to bully my wife and child. What do you think?" Darwin replied coldly.

"It's your father after all..." the officer muttered sympathetically, understanding the complexity of the situation.

"I've made up my mind, no need to say more," Darwin said, then looked at Fiona. "Darling, I'd like to go back to the room and rest."

Fiona acknowledged Darwin's decision with a nod. She then gestured subtly to the officers and proceeded to lead Darwin toward the elevator.

The officers seemed hesitant as if they wanted to say something. Janna intervened calmly, addressing them, "Gentlemen, I understand how you feel, but according to the law, Darwin is an adult and he has the right to make his own decisions. If he doesn't want to see his father, no one can force him. What do you think?"

"We understand." The leading officer nodded in acknowledgment. With that, he and his men departed from Emerald Pool.

On the way back, a newly recruited officer couldn't help but comment, "Even if Mr. Solomon Sr. did something to his wife and child during his disappearance, it didn't mean they shouldn't meet. He seemed to be really worried about his son..."

To the newly recruited officer, Darwin's father's tearful appearance was really pitiful. But the other officers didn't respond. They had already heard all the gossip about Mr. Solomon Sr. recently.

"Let's not say anything else," one officer said to another, his tone tinged with disdain. "It appears this old man has never truly spent time with his son. He's traveling around the world all year round, and his girlfriends are everywhere."

"Yesterday, someone even mentioned that this old man appears to be collecting women from all over the world. A person like him, who has been pursuing pleasure since his youth, seems to have little concern for his son," another officer chimed in, shaking his head in disapproval.

"After his son went missing, he immediately assumed that his son was dead and couldn't wait to find his daughter-in-law to divide the inheritance. This is also the encounter with Fiona, who is a powerful character. If it were a delicate woman who relied on her husband for a living, who knows how she would have been bullied by this old man," the conversation continued, filled with murmurs of agreement.

They had been in this line of work for so many years. They had seen too many pitiful women who had been kicked out.

After leaving Emerald Pool, they saw Mr. Solomon Sr. who was live streaming on the side of the road.

Mr. Solomon Sr. immediately approached them. "What's the situation? Can I go in and see my son?"

"We have already seen your son, Mr. Darwin, and he seems to be fine. Please don't worry," one of the officers reassured him.

Mr. Solomon Sr. was stunned for a moment, then quickly exclaimed, "I've said it before, that person is likely to be a stand-in. I must confirm it with my own eyes!"

"But Mr. Darwin refuses to meet you," the officer replied.

"Then he is definitely not my son!" Mr. Solomon Sr. said without hesitation. "It's because he's afraid that I'll see through his disguise, so he doesn't dare to let me see him!"

The live chat was buzzing with activity. Before they entered Emerald Pool, the number of people in this live broadcast room had already exceeded one million. Now it seemed to be even more crowded.

Witnessing Mr. Solomon Sr. in tears and visibly distressed, the viewers felt a wave of sympathy wash over them.

[No matter what kind of person he is, he can't be deprived of his rights as a father, right?]

[He's right. The officer is afraid to let Darwin and his father meet. It's very likely that Darwin is afraid of being recognized!]

[Why aren't the officers doing anything? Fiona's suspicion of murder is already evident! Will they not arrest her just because she comes from a wealthy family?]

The leading officer glanced at the live chat and then addressed the viewers, saying, "I understand your feelings. I just asked Mr. Darwin, and he will hold a press conference on this matter. He will attend in person."

Mr. Solomon Sr. was stunned. This press conference should have been held at the very beginning. He was convinced that Fiona was up to something, and then, under the instigation of his little girlfriend, he acted as he did today.

"When will the press conference be held? Don't fool me again!" Mr. Solomon Sr. said in a deep voice.

The officer replied, "It should be in the next few days. Specifically, you have to pay attention to the arrangements made by Solomon Investments."

"So, you guys went in and didn't get anything done?" Mr. Solomon Sr.'s malicious nature, fueled by urgency, began to reveal itself. "What are you even doing back there?"

Before Mr. Solomon Sr. could erupt with more malicious remarks, the two men accompanying him took big steps and ended the live broadcast directly.

"Mr. Solomon Sr., please remain calm," the two men said in a low voice as they held him firmly.

Mr. Solomon Sr. was still angry, but he regained his composure. He looked angrily at the few police officers and said, "Alright, you guys go back! I'll handle it myself!"

The officers left in a hurry.

"Let go of me!" Mr. Solomon Sr. shook off the people holding him. He took out his phone and called his girlfriend.

In a small sports car not far away, the woman answered the phone.

"Baby, they actually said they really saw Darwin, is that stand-in so much like him? Can the police's eyes be deceived?" Mr. Solomon Sr. asked urgently. "They also said that Fiona is going to hold a press conference... Why do I feel a little scared again?"

"Why did you lose your temper just now?" came the woman's angry voice from the phone. "Originally, everyone was sympathetic to you, but now there are so many people cursing at you, do you know?"

Mr. Solomon Sr. frowned. "These incompetent individuals, they can't even manage such a trivial issue. I'm merely reprimanding them; it's lenient if I refrain from physical discipline!" "
