Chapter 1282
Evander spotted Alexander strolling in.
"Did you get caught in the rain?" He gave Stella a once-over.
Stella shook her head with a smile and reached up to brush the raindrops from Alexander's hair.
That's when Evander noticed Stella was wearing a coat that didn't fit her, and Alexander was missing his.
Stella seemed to catch Evander's gaze and looked over.
Evander felt super embarrassed.
The gossip from those rich ladies buzzed in her ears.
Stella didn't ignore her.
She gave a polite nod.
Evander quickly nodded back.
Then, Stella took Alexander's arm and headed towards the hotel elevator.
Just then, a kid came rushing by with a suitcase.
Alexander reacted fast, protecting Stella and stepping aside.
Evander always thought Stella had loved Wyatt for so many years, there was no way she could stop loving him in just a few months.
She figured Stella married Alexander just to spite Wyatt.
But at that moment, Evander realized how dumb her thoughts had been all along. She knew Wyatt would never care for Stella as attentively as Alexander did.
Evander had been lovingly cared for by Gideon for decades, so she knew how amazing it was to be loved wholeheartedly.
So, compared to the years of hurt she had endured, once someone like Alexander showed up, how could Stella still love Wyatt?
Evander felt a huge wave of regret.
She went home in a daze.
Gideon's heart had been acting up lately, and he spent all day lying in bed.
Seeing Evander return, he patiently came out to ask her if she had enjoyed her shopping trip and if she had bought anything she liked.
The words of that lady echoed in Evander's mind, weighing heavily on her heart.
She felt even more sorrowful.
She hugged Gideon and burst into tears, apologizing over and over.
Gideon didn't know what had happened.
He panicked, and in his panic, his heart condition flared up again.
The servants immediately gave him his medication.
Evander stood there, crying and laughing, and then she started to lose her mind.
Wyatt only found out about this two days before last week.
He rushed back immediately.
After landing in the capital city, his former assistant, whom he had fired, was waiting for him at the airport exit with his phone.
In just a few months, Wyatt looked like a vagrant.
His hair was messy, his beard unkempt, and his clothes tattered.
The assistant almost broke down and cried at the airport upon seeing Wyatt.
