Chapter 1014
Hurriedly, Chicago found a lid to cover it.
Brady mumbled, "Of course, I know to save some for Charles. I won't take it all; you don't need to be so anxious, Chicago!"
Chicago squinted and smiled, deftly handling the situation. Fearing Brady might not understand, she added, "Tomorrow is your birthday. How about we take you fishing? Secretly, so your mom won't find out!"
"Really?" Brady asked.
Because he was truly unlucky, he had nearly drowned twice.
Anna wouldn't let him play near the water.
Catching small crabs on the riverbank was already the limit.
"It's your birthday, so it's up to you!" Chicago replied.
"Alright!" Brady nodded repeatedly. "Chicago, you're the best!"
"It's nothing, we're friends!" Chicago said.
Ethan remained silent.
Darwin and Alexander came out, looking at the children chatting through the window.
"Chicago is like a little sun," Alexander said, genuinely praising Chicago, whose face was covered in food.
Darwin's eyes were gentle and loving. "She is adorable and sensible."
As he spoke, Chicago's gaze turned towards them.
Darwin immediately smiled and waved at her.
Chicago, ever so cute, raised her hands and made a heart gesture towards Darwin.
Then she blew a few kisses through the air.
Darwin laughed happily.
"Who could resist that?" Alexander also laughed. "If Stella and I could have such a lovely daughter in the future, I would have no regrets in this life."
As they spoke, they quickly returned to the main topic.
"Haven't you been sleeping well these past few days?" Alexander asked.
Darwin thought for a moment and said, "I think it's been alright; why?"
"Give me your hand." Alexander extended his hand.
Darwin glanced at Chicago. She was still looking at him.
Seeing Darwin look over, she blew another kiss through the air.
He didn't want her to worry. So he gestured to her that he was going to talk to Alexander on the other side.
Chicago nodded repeatedly.
After avoiding Chicago's gaze, Darwin handed his hand to Alexander.
Alexander checked his body.
Darwin's condition clearly indicated a lack of sleep, so why did he say it was okay?
Logically, if Darwin wanted to request medication, he wouldn't hide such basic information.
"Do you dream?" Alexander asked.
Darwin thought for a moment and said, "I don't really remember that. Lately, I wake up feeling tired, but I can't recall dreaming about anything."
"Alright." Alexander nodded. "I'll send you some sleep aids later. You still need to ensure good rest and sleep."
"Okay, thank you." Darwin nodded.
"You're welcome." Alexander smiled faintly. "I will always be grateful that Mrs. Solomon could stand by Stella during her toughest times."
"Alright," Darwin responded, "If you ever need my help with anything, please don't hesitate to ask."
"Don't worry, I will." Alexander nodded.
The two agreed on the time and place for their first physical check-up after returning to the Bay City, and then they went back together.
