Chapter 699 Marry Her to My Family

"Is the land ownership of the plots confirmed?" Fiona continued to ask.

The person in charge replied, "It has all been confirmed. Those homestays, strictly speaking, encroach on land that belongs to Solomon Investments."

"Compensate them, and if it's not possible, enforce it forcefully before starting construction," Fiona said calmly.

"I understand."

Fiona let out a sigh and glanced at the others. "Has everyone reported what they needed to report?"

Everyone responded one after another.

"Well, let's proceed according to the current pace."

The meeting ended.

Fiona had just left when Henry came over quickly.

"Did they agree?" Fiona asked.

"Yes, they have been waiting for you for a while," Henry replied.

"Thank you for your hard work," Fiona said lightly. "You've been to this Pacific island before, and there's currently a need for a reliable person in charge of the project. I want you to go there."

"What about the Ross family's project?"

"This project over here, Darwin had already laid a solid foundation in the early stages," Fiona paused momentarily. "I plan to hand it over to Wyatt."

"Is Mr. Durham coming back?" Henry was extremely surprised.

"I contacted Wyatt a couple of days ago. Once he has recovered enough, he will come over to the project."

"That's great!" Henry couldn't be happier to have more people to help Secretary Woods.

Back in the Ross family.

Mr. Ross and Fiona signed the new contract.

"Mr. Ross, I hope we can continue a pleasant collaboration." Fiona looked at Mr. Ross and smirked. "However, please make sure to restrain the people around you. If something like Hathaway or Annie happens again, I will not show any mercy."

"I understand." Mr. Ross lowered his noble head.

However, what Mr. Ross thought in his heart was to be flexible when necessary.

"Fiona, can't you give Annie another chance? Robert really misled her. After you saved her life that day, she realized her mistakes and wants to make it up to you."

"So you knew that I saved Annie's life?" Fiona asked coldly. "And yet, you still allowed your subordinates to shift blame and avoid responsibility. I am truly impressed."

Mr. Ross's face turned pale.

"In this world, everything we do comes with a price," Fiona continued, "The law will arrange a proper outcome for Annie. Either you change the heir, or you train yourself well and live longer to wait for her release. Don't put your hope on me. I have already shown kindness by not subjecting her to private punishment and letting her suffer. It's enough."

Mr. Ross visibly aged several years.

Mr. Ross knew that no matter what kind words he said, Fiona had made up her mind.

On the other side.

Chicago, the little girl, made it through her first day of school under the protection of her friends.

After school.

Chicago, as usual, waited for Xavier to come and pick her up in the classroom.

Among her friends, only two of them were left to accompany her.

"You don't have to worry, I'm fine," Chicago reluctantly said, "Go home quickly!"

"It's okay, my Mommy hasn't arrived yet."

Just as the little girl finished speaking.

Several boys suddenly rushed toward the door.

"Chicago!"

A boy stood at the back door and suddenly shouted at Chicago.

She instinctively turned her head.

Then she heard someone ask, "Is your dad really dead?"

"What nonsense are you guys talking about!" Chicago's little friend immediately stood with hands on her hips, protecting Chicago from those malicious boys.

"What nonsense, everyone knows!" The boy at the front laughed. "Chicago, your mom is so beautiful, why not marry her to my family? My uncle is still single!"

This boy.

During Christmas, he heard people in his family talking about it.

Chicago's mom was already very wealthy, and the inheritance from Chicago's dad was also an astronomical figure.

After Fiona remarried, whoever she married would have enough money to spend for the rest of their lives!

The boy's monthly allowance was never enough.

He immediately thought that if Chicago's mom married into his family, he would have endless money to spend!

"Your uncle is fat and looks like a pig. Why would Chicago's mom marry him!" His friend's face turned red with frustration.

"Widows can't be picky; it's good if someone wants her!" The boy continued fearlessly.

He heard all of this when the adults in his family were chatting.

His grandmother even told him to establish a good relationship with Chicago at school.

If Chicago liked him, not only would he be able to marry a beautiful woman, but he would also have no worries about money!

"Chicago, let's go, don't mind him!"

Her friends decided to take Chicago away when they couldn't win the argument.

"Okay." Chicago picked up her backpack.

Seeing that she was about to leave, the boy rushed in.

"Don't go, didn't you hear what I said? Are you deaf?"

Chicago frowned and then covered her nose.

The boy was stunned.

"Who smells so bad in there?" Chicago covered her mouth and nose, his beautiful eyes blinked repeatedly, and his eyebrows furrowed tightly.

"It's not me. I take a bath every day!" one of the boys quickly responded.

The others also smelled themselves while denying it.

Chicago furrowed her eyebrows even deeper.

She took two steps back.

Then she stared at the boy who had been saying disgusting things and asked, "Did you not brush your teeth? You smell bad..."

As she spoke, Chicago turned her head and gagged.

Following the behavior of others was very normal among children.

Chicago's two friends also covered their mouths and noses, showing a disgusted expression.

And the few people who came with the smelly boy each backed away with disgust, completely forgetting that they came here to mock Chicago for not having a father.

"I brushed my teeth; I don't smell!" The boy quickly looked at his companions and anxiously explained, "If you don't believe me, come closer and smell!"

"Don't do that. What if it's a contagious smell, you would be infecting other classmates, right?" Chicago quickly said.

The other boys dared not approach anymore after hearing this.

"No, it's too smelly. I have to go. I might throw up if I smell it again." After Chicago finished speaking, she gagged again, grabbed his small backpack, and immediately ran toward the front door.

Two friends, also covering their mouths and noses, shouted, "It's so stinky, let's run with Chicago."

The boy stood in place, completely stunned.

"Oh, I remembered, my sister is picking me up today. I have to go!"

"My grandma should be arriving soon. Let's go together!"

"Don't leave, I'm not really stinky!" He looked at his friends, who had all runaway and were so desperate that he was about to cry.

Then he lifted his arm and sniffed himself forcefully.

Why couldn't he smell his own stench?

Chicago had just gone outside when she met Charlotte, who came to pick her up.

"Are you okay?" Charlotte exclaimed, out of breath.

Charlotte had just been downstairs when she heard that a group of boys had come to bother Chicago.

Charlotte immediately rushed over.

Chicago smiled and shook her head.

In Chicago's mind were the words her mommy said that night.
