Chapter 512 It's Only Right to Repay Debts

Just moments ago, they thought with their superior numbers, and facing only two guys, they could fight if necessary, take the van, and make a run for it.

However, when Brad stepped out of the vehicle.

He saw over twenty people.

Brad had never witnessed such a scene before.

"Big guy, what's this— more muscle or fuss?" Brad asked.

The man didn't speak.

Once everyone was off the van.

He firmly shut the door.

"Bury them," another man ordered.

The crowd of over twenty swarmed forward.

Several men were assigned to each person, forcefully tossing them into pre-dug pits.

Ignoring the shocked cries from the Shaw family.

They started to fill the pits with dirt.

"Who is it? Who wants to kill us?!" Brad wailed. "Is it about money? We have money, we can pay!"

By the time the dirt reached their necks,
The group stopped.

No matter how the Shaw family cried and begged, the men just stood aside, neither looking at nor talking to them.

As night fell, the darkness enveloped everything in sight.

Brad and his companions had been shouting until their voices were hoarse when they suddenly caught a glimpse of a set of car headlights in the distance.

"Someone's coming!" Brad yelled frantically. "Help! We need help!"

The car quickly approached and stopped directly in front of them. Then, to their surprise, the very driver who had brought Brad and the others stepped out of the vehicle and jogged over, respectfully opening the car door.

Brad had a bad feeling about this. He stared intently as a tall and dignified figure emerged from the car.

"Pretty boy!" Brad exclaimed in shock.

"Looking for trouble?" A man by his side snapped, landing a swift kick to Brad's face, causing him to wail in pain.

A chair was brought over, and Kenny, dressed in a sharp suit, took a seat. His gaze swept over the line of heads before him, a hint of bloodlust curling at the corner of his mouth as he beckoned them closer with a slight gesture.

"Are we having fun?" he asked.

"What exactly are you?" One of the Shaws, coming to their senses and realizing this man's poise was no mere pretty face, demanded an answer.

"Didn't I introduce myself last time? I'm Thalassa's new husband," Kenny replied, his tone deliberate and unhurried.

"What do you really want?" A middle-aged woman collapsed into tears. "We're the true victims here. The Thalassa family owes us money. You send us to jail, then bury us alive – is there any justice in that?"

"Justice?" Kenny scoffed. "Justin owes the money, and you come after my wife for it? Is that what you call justice?"

"It was Justin who told us to," they protested.

"Yeah, Justin said Thalassa was raised by him and mentioned that Thalassa had once settled a debt of over seven hundred thousand dollars, promising that she would pay us. That’s why we went to her! You should be dealing with Justin!" another person cried out in despair.

Trapped underground for so long, not knowing if they'd live or die—it was too much to bear.

"So, you still think you should be asking my wife for the money?" Kenny's tone grew colder, sending chills down their spines.

"No, we don’t want the money anymore," Brad's wife sobbed. "We were blind to your stature; we offended you and Thalassa. Please have mercy and forgive us this once!"

"Debts must be repaid—it's only right. How can you just not want the money?" Kenny asked deliberately. "Ask the right person and no one will touch you, understand?"

A look of realization dawned on them all. They nodded and voiced their understanding in unison.

"Here’s Justin’s current address," Kenny said, tossing a piece of paper at them. "Use all the tricks you planned for Thalassa on him."

Everyone eagerly agreed, taking the note.

"Look, just don't show your face around Thalassa again, okay?" Kenny's tone had softened quite a bit, and it sounded almost like a negotiation.

However, the sheer pressure of his presence made resistance feel impossible.

"We won't! We'll never do it again!"

"Good."

Kenny stood up.

"Dig them out before sunrise, no need for food or water."

With that, he got into his car.

The engine roared to life, and quickly, Kenny was gone.

The silence returned, more profound than before.

"Why wait until sunrise, man? I gotta pee so bad I can't hold it!"

"We agreed to his terms, didn't we? Why?"

The Shaw family was on the verge of breaking down.

However, nobody paid them any mind.

After a while, Brad came to his senses.

He yelled at the man who had brought them here "Hey, who is that guy, really?"

The man sneered at Brad, "I hear you called my boss a pretty boy?"

Brad's face tightened.

‘The pretty boy did look damn good and was visibly young.

‘Driving such a sleek sports car too.

‘First impression? A well-kept boy toy of Thalassa's.’ he thought.

"Is he one of Fiona's guys?" Brad asked, trembling.

The man rolled his eyes.

"Didn't my boss introduce himself? His last name is Walker, you idiot!"

"Walker?"

Brad racked his brain.

He went through all the affluent Walkers he could think of.

The wealthiest Walkers he knew were the Walkers from the North.

There were no possibilities that Thalassa could end up connected to the Walkers.

Brad stubbornly dismissed the right answer.

Straining his thoughts until dawn broke and they were dug out like dead dogs.

That night, no one could hold it in, and they ended up soiling themselves.

The stench was unbearable.

Brad had thought they'd be cleaned up at least before being sent back downtown.

After they were dug out.

Those guys simply pointed them to the main road and left without looking back.

"Damn it!" Brad roared.

Later, they rinsed off in a nearby pond.

No one spoke of going to the police.

They were scared they might just get thrown back in.

"Which Walker is it?" Brad punched his head in frustration, unable to figure it out.

"No matter which Walker it is, from the looks of it, he's way out of our league," someone said dejectedly. "Ultimately, it’s all Justin's damn fault. If he hadn’t sent us to shake down Thalassa for money, would we have crossed paths with two untouchables at once?"

"Just like that, one guy locked us up for seven days without a word, and another just buried us alive. If we keep looking for Thalassa, who knows what else is waiting for us," Brad articulated every word deliberately as he continued, "You think Maria and Justin knew all along that Thalassa had a tough one on her hands?"

"Absolutely!" the others chorused.

"Wouldn't be surprised if the sudden downfall of the Shaw family was Walker's doing—to avenge his wife!"

"It must be exactly that!"

"Great, so Justin and Maria knew Thalassa wasn't to be messed with, yet they still egged us on. They're clearly trying to use us as their pawns!" Brad's fists clenched tightly with resolve.
