Chapter 1168

Darwin never spilled the beans about it.

"Man, it's a real bummer," he muttered, eyes glued to the ground, clearly bummed out.

"Did you think I was with Harold?" Fiona asked softly.

"Gray said she saw you, and now everyone's buzzing that you're getting hitched to Harold," Darwin replied, looking even more crushed.

"It's all just media garbage," Fiona said, giving Darwin's back a gentle rub. "Do you even know why I brought Harold here?"

Darwin shook his head, clueless.

Fiona stared at the breathtaking sunset over the coastline. "Henry told me that when you visited Blaise, you stood here forever and said I'd love it, so you decided to buy it."

"You also told Henry you wanted to build those overwater bungalows here 'cause I once said I'd love to stay in one when I visit Blaise," Fiona continued, locking eyes with Darwin. "I brought Harold here to tell him all this. While you were heartbroken, I was turning down a rich guy for you."

Darwin managed a weak smile.

"You were so down and out back then. Must've felt like crap," Fiona said, placing her hand on Darwin's chest.

She genuinely felt bad for him.

"It's no big deal," Darwin said, gently hugging Fiona and resting his chin on her head. "Don't worry; we will be happy together."

Fiona smiled and hugged him back.

The gentle sea breeze seemed to didn't want to disturb the couple who had been through so much.

After their walk, they headed home.

Fiona got a call from Hubert.

"Mrs. Rhoads, I'm back in Bay City. I'm free the next few days, so you can schedule an appointment whenever," Hubert's voice was as gentle as ever.

"My husband and I are on a business trip overseas and will be back in Bay City tomorrow. How about the morning after tomorrow?" Fiona suggested.

Once back in Bay City, they had to hit up a meeting at the Solomon Group about the Blaise project.

"Sure, you know the address?"

"Yep."

"Then let's set it for 9:30 in the morning?"

"Sounds good, thanks."

"No problem. Looking forward to seeing you again, Mrs. Rhoads."

The call ended.

Fiona told Darwin, who was packing, "Hubert's back. I set up an appointment for 9:30 the morning after tomorrow!"

"Alright," Darwin responded.

Fiona was in a great mood, and he didn't want to mess it up.

So, Darwin decided to wait until they got home tomorrow to drop the bomb about another Darwin.

They had a sweet night.

The next day, Fiona, looking all radiant, boarded the return flight with Darwin.

After a morning of travel, they touched down in Bay City at noon.

Near the Solomon Group, they grabbed lunch before hitting up a meeting about the Blaise project together.

This was the first time Darwin and Fiona showed up together at a company meeting since Darwin's accident.

The vibe at the Solomon Group was buzzing.

Someone even sneakily snapped a pic of them together and posted it online anonymously.

Unknown: [Darwin and Fiona are total goals!]

The photo was interesting.

It showed Fiona talking while Darwin looked at her.

There was a saying, when you loved someone, even if you covered your mouth, the love showed in your eyes.

And Darwin's gaze nailed it perfectly.

Unknown: [He's head over heels for her!]

Unknown: [Not just love. Compared to old pics of them, his eyes now show mad respect and appreciation too!]

Unknown: [Yeah, Darwin was truly proud of his wife.]
