Chapter 1174

"No," Fiona said, her voice flat.

Nathaniel was fuming. "Two million is pocket change for you. I'm broke and just need it to feel secure. You need my info; it's a fair trade!"

"Or I could just send someone to rough you up. How about that?" Fiona replied, calm as ever.

Nathaniel went quiet, eyeing his flimsy door nervously.

"Don't do that," he finally sighed. "I don't know much. I'm not well-educated, and my mom didn't trust me. I was married to Anniston back then. My mom found out something about Anniston and got even more cautious. All I know is Aiden had mental issues at twenty, and later..."

His voice dropped. "Aiden got involved with a girl our family sponsored. You know why my mom didn't oppose you and Darwin? She once opposed Aiden and that girl. After they broke up, the girl was found with all her organs removed."

Fiona was taken aback.

"After that, Aiden got worse. Anniston used my mom's distraction to secure a spot in the Solomon Group," Nathaniel sighed. "I didn't see Aiden for two years after the girl's accident. When I did, he had fallen from a building."

"What illness did Aiden have?" Fiona asked.

Nathaniel paused, then it clicked. "Why are you so interested in Aiden's death? Did something happen to Darwin? Am I right?"

He sounded almost gleeful at the thought of Fiona and her husband suffering.

Fiona felt nothing but disgust.

"Nathaniel, you better hope nothing happens to Darwin. Imagine your fate if something did, given how much I despise you," Fiona sneered. "You're neither my father nor my uncle."

Nathaniel's smirk disappeared.

"Keep dreaming. Darwin will be fine," Fiona said, hanging up.

She believed Nathaniel. Brooke had once named Aiden as the heir to the Solomon Group, so she must have kept everything about him secret.

Where to start investigating?

Fiona thought for a moment. She needed Burl's help. She went straight to Burl's room.

"Who is this? The name sounds familiar," Burl said, looking at the name Fiona gave him.

"Don't worry about that," Fiona said. "Find his medical records from the Solomon Group's psychiatric department and check his whereabouts during that time."

Burl scratched his head. "This was thirty or forty years ago. Most travel didn't have electronic records. It's tough."

"I know it's tough; that's why I came to you," Fiona flattered Burl.

Burl liked the flattery and puffed out his chest.

"Then you've come to the right guy. Give me some time, and I'll find it," Burl said confidently.

Fiona thought for a moment. "If you can't find it, check Brooke's whereabouts during that time. It's the same."

Burl was shocked. "Brooke?"
