Chapter 1328

After a bit of watching, Vespera suddenly seemed to remember something and got all sad. She said, "Mrs. Mitchell's gone, and all her close friends are gone too. I'm the only one left."

"Grandma, you've still got me and our family. You're not alone," Emrys said, holding Vespera's cold hand and trying to cheer her up.

Vespera's hand shook as she gently touched Emrys's cheek.

Then she looked at Fiona and asked, "Is Mr. Solomon still visiting Aiden?"

Fiona wasn't sure, but to comfort Vespera, she nodded. "Yes."

"And is he visiting the unborn baby too?" Vespera asked again.

Fiona knew she meant the baby in Marisole's womb.

"Yes," Fiona nodded.

"That's good. It'd be too sad if the baby was neglected," Vespera said, wiping away her tears.

"Don't worry, Darwin and I will visit," Fiona replied. She hadn't been involved before, but she was determined to take care of it once she got back.

"How sad," Vespera sighed deeply. "Everything was fine. I still don't get why Aiden's illness suddenly got worse. Mr. Graham said as long as Aiden took his meds, he'd be like a normal person. How did his illness suddenly flare up?"

These were Vespera's ramblings.

But to Fiona, it felt like a drop of water in a still pond, sending out ripples.

Indeed.

Aldrich was the top psychologist back then.

If he let Aiden go back, he must've done a thorough evaluation. So why did Aiden's illness suddenly get worse?

Fiona had seen the medical records.

There were no signs before Aiden's illness flared up.

Fiona's mind was buzzing with questions.

Just then, the restaurant started serving the dishes.

Knowing loyal customers had returned, the owner paid special attention to the preparations.

But the chef from back then was gone. The recipes and cooking methods were the same, but the flavors felt different to Vespera.

She felt a wave of sadness.

But with Fiona by her side, keeping her entertained, she happily enjoyed the meal.

As they said their goodbyes, Vespera said, "I haven't met Mr. Solomon's two kids yet."

Hearing this, Fiona showed her videos and photos.

Vespera was very pleased. "They look great, really beautiful!"

"Take care of yourself, and when the kids are on vacation, I'll bring them to see you," Fiona said gently.

Vespera nodded but didn't respond.

Fiona sent the photos of Charles and Chicago to Emrys.

Vespera watched them leave, murmuring to herself, "Aiden and Marisole's child must be just as beautiful. What a shame."

Because she had spent time with Vespera, Fiona got home pretty late.

On her way, she got a Facebook message from Emrys.

The previous message was from half an hour ago. Emrys: [Mrs. Solomon, my grandma and I have safely arrived home.]

The latest message was: [Mrs. Solomon, thank you for taking care of my grandma today. She just passed away, with a smile on her face.]
