Chapter 1278
Fiona looked totally worn out.
Janna gently touched Fiona's cheek, worried. "How'd you get so tired? Doesn't Darwin have a team to handle things at the Solomon Group?"
"I'm okay," Fiona said, shaking her head. "Stella and Alexander are coming through Bay City the day after tomorrow. I'll ask him for some more medicine then."
Janna teared up and hugged Fiona tight.
Ashton was pacing around the living room. "Janna came home, and Melissa didn't say a word. She just called Fiona into the room with a gloomy face. Why do I feel so uneasy?"
Kenny was holding Melissa, his eyes tracking Ashton as he paced.
"Grandma Janna loves Fiona a lot; even if she's mad, she wouldn't really scold her," Kenny said.
"Do you think Grandma Janna will make Fiona get a divorce?" Ashton asked Kenny quietly.
Kenny thought for a moment. "Maybe, but Fiona won't go for it."
Ashton sighed heavily again.
Still feeling uneasy, she decided to call Chicago and Charles over. "Chicago, Charles, Grandma Janna just got home. She's probably giving Fiona a hard time right now. We need to launch a rescue mission!"
Chicago nodded eagerly. "Godmother Ashton, what should I do?"
"Rush over and open the door right now! Then you two jump into Janna's arms, act all cute, and say you missed her a lot. I'll use the chance to get Fiona out!" Ashton said seriously.
Just as she finished, Janna's voice came from behind. "Am I really that bad?"
Ashton went silent.
She turned around with a sheepish smile. "I was just playing with the kids, right? Chicago, Charles!"
As she spoke, Ashton and Chicago exchanged a quick glance.
Chicago got the hint immediately.
In a sweet, playful tone, she said, "Great-grandma, I missed you so much!"
Then she jumped right into Janna's arms.
"My darling, I missed you too. Let me see, have you grown taller?" Janna said. Ashton sighed in relief.
Then, she caught Fiona's eyes, which were smiling but not quite.
Janna was equally loving towards Chicago and Charles.
After showering Chicago with kisses, she didn't forget about Charles either.
After kissing them both, Janna still looked a bit worried.
Chicago was growing taller quickly, but why wasn't Charles? Could it be because of the bone marrow transplant he had before?
Was that why Charles wasn't growing taller?
Janna thought she needed to find an expert to check it out!
Thinking this, she turned around and hugged the chubby Melissa tightly. "Let me see, whose darling is this?"
Melissa laughed happily.
