Chapter 984
Charles, who was feeling down, looked at Fiona and asked, "Why are you feeling down?"
"Isn't there a saying that the process of children growing up is the process of gradually moving away from their parents? I know that you and your sister will have a great future and be very happy, but just thinking about you being far away from me makes me feel down. However, despite feeling down, I still hope that you and your sister can continue to grow up the way you like. You may fly high and far, but I will always be here waiting for you to come home."
Charles said nothing. He opened his arms and hugged Fiona, burying his head in her chest.
"I don't want to be separated from you," he said muffledly.
"Sweetheart, it's still early," Fiona comforted with a smile, "Don't be sad in advance."
Fiona stayed in Charles's room for quite a while.
She only left quietly after he fell asleep.
She glanced at Chicago's room. The lights were already off, so Chicago must have been asleep.
She stretched her limbs and walked towards the master bedroom.
"Why are you still reading these?" Fiona asked as she entered the room and saw Darwin still reading the key project documents related to Solomon. "It's late, you should rest."
Darwin took off his glasses.
He looked up at Fiona, who quickly walked to him and gently stroked his chin.
"Are Charles and Chicago asleep?" Darwin leaned his cheek into Fiona's hand, gently rubbing it, and asked tenderly.
"Yes," Fiona replied and then told Darwin about Charles's worries.
"Are Charlotte and Jessie in Chicago's room?" Darwin asked.
"Yes." Fiona nodded.
Darwin smiled wryly. "They are very wary of me now."
"It'll be fine in a couple of days," Fiona comforted.
Darwin looked at Fiona and gently responded.
On the next morning.
Alexander and Stella set off for the church. They stopped by Fiona's place first.
Chicago slept very messily.
Fiona brought her out and had Alexander check her arm.
Having confirmed that Chicago was fine, Stella took Fiona to the postpartum care center.
After having breakfast with Thalassa, they set off.
Thalassa leaned against the window, watching the SUV drive out of the parking lot, and murmured, "I hope they can get Father Ben this time!"
Fiona held Nora.
Nora looked plumper and cuter with each passing day.
Her eyes were becoming more and more beautiful.
"Nora gets Kenny's little curls." Fiona's nose gently touched Nora's nose.
She immediately smiled adorably.
"She smiles! Nora is smiling!" Fiona quickly told Thalassa.
Thalassa walked over with her hands behind her back, saying, "Nora is very smart. She knows her godmother will be her big support in the future, so she likes to smile at her godmother, right? Nora."
Nora seemed to understand what Thalassa was saying.
She clenched her little fists and smiled even more happily.
"Forget it. Don't be her godmother just yet." Thalassa suddenly seemed to think of something and waved her hand.
"Are you backing out of this?" Fiona gave her a sidelong glance. "No way."
"Not backing out!" Thalassa chuckled, "You can be her mother-in-law rather than her godmother!"
