Chapter 59 They were Ruined, so I Threw them away.

Darwin's black shirt barely covered Fiona's knees. The buttons were done up just enough to keep things decent.

Fiona didn't expect Darwin to show up now.

She heard the door creak open.

She spun around, startled.

Darwin stood there, looking shocked.

Fiona, barefoot on the warm floor, felt uneasy under his gaze. "Why are you back?"

Darwin raised his right hand.

That's when Fiona noticed the bag he was holding.

"Didn't you say you wanted ravioli from that place this morning?" Darwin said, walking towards her.

He had been rushing to a meeting earlier.

When he left, he kissed her a bit too passionately and woke her up.

Darwin had braced himself for a scolding.

But she didn't scold him; instead, she clung to his neck, nuzzled him, and said she wanted ravioli.

Darwin knew she wasn't fully awake.

But her cute, sleepy request still made him feel pretty good.

So, after the meeting, he didn't stick around the office.

He drove across half of Bay City to get ravioli for Fiona.

Fiona, still groggy, was confused. "Don't talk nonsense. I just woke up. When did I say I wanted this?"

Darwin walked up and wrapped his other arm around her waist. "Maybe I was too rough last night. Your brain's all scrambled?" His tone was teasing.

Fiona instinctively tried to pull away.

But Darwin's arm tightened around her.

"Who said you could wear my clothes?" he asked next.

His tone was casual, not angry, almost amused.

Fiona gritted her teeth.

"I have no clothes to wear. If I don't wear yours, should I go naked?" She was too tired to deal with Darwin's twisted sense of humor. "Let go!"

Darwin didn't let go.

He easily wrapped his arm around her waist and lifted her with one hand.

"Darwin!" Fiona exclaimed.

Darwin set the ravioli aside.

He carried Fiona back to the bedroom.

Fiona was genuinely scared. "Darwin, I won't wear your clothes anymore, okay?"

Darwin threw her onto the bed and leaned over her.

"No." He pinched Fiona's chin.

This time, he wasn't forceful.

Fiona's eyes were tinged with red, looking particularly pitiful.

If only there wasn't so much stubbornness and anger in her eyes, it would be even better.

"In the future, you can wear whatever you want." Then, Darwin kissed her on the lips. "You look good. I like it."

Fiona's face was burning.

"You're doing this on purpose!" she said angrily, "Where did you put my clothes?"

"They were ruined, so I threw them away," Darwin said, quite self-righteously.

Thinking about how the clothes got ruined, Fiona fell silent.

"By the way, let me tell you something funny." Darwin lowered his eyes, his fingertip gently brushing Fiona's lips.

What kind of genuinely funny thing could someone like Darwin say?

"Last night, someone hired a marketing company, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, trying to post something to expose me online," Darwin said slowly, a mocking smile on his lips.

Fiona was zoning out. "Mr. Solomon, you're ruthless. Tons of people wanna take you down. What's new?"

Darwin glanced at her and smirked. "But this time, it's about you."

Fiona's eyes widened, her brow furrowing.

"The post was about how I forced myself on you, kept you under my thumb for five years, and even after I got engaged with someone else, I wouldn't let go, putting you through hell and back." Darwin chuckled, his fingers tracing her cheek. "Isn't that a riot?"

The name "Rupert" flashed in Fiona's mind.

She cursed silently, 'That idiot!'

"Rupert's got more guts now, but he's still too dumb to be a threat," Darwin said.

Fiona felt a bit down. "I haven't talked to him. I didn't know he'd pull this."

"Alright," Darwin replied, "So, what should I do with him?"

Fiona was at a loss for words.

"Do whatever you want." She pushed Darwin. "I'm starving."

Darwin looked at her, trying to read her.

Then he let go.

Fiona got up, adjusted the shirt, and ignoring Darwin's stare, walked out.

Darwin followed her.

Fiona grabbed the ravioli and headed to the dining room.

Darwin sat across from her.

Fiona slowly ate a ravioli.

With her stomach full, she felt more relaxed.

"Mr. Solomon, did you check last night's surveillance?" she asked.

Darwin let out a cold laugh. "Yeah."

Fiona knew Darwin would never take her word for it.

He had to see for himself if he was being played.

He added, "Ms. Woods, you sure know how to draw a crowd."

The bar's footage was crystal clear.

Those guys couldn't take their eyes off Fiona.

One after another, they tried to hit on her.

But there was one thing that made Darwin happy.

Fiona hadn't given Rupert a single kind look the whole time.

Rupert just sat there, drinking himself into a stupor.

"I'm hot, got a great body, and a good personality. Isn't it normal to attract people?" Fiona paused, glanced at Darwin. "Honestly, you're the only one who always treated me like a stand-in."

Darwin's expression shifted slightly.

She seemed pretty proud of herself.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Darwin frowned. He had sent all the servants away when he came back.

Who could it be now?

"It's the delivery I ordered." Fiona put down her spoon and was about to get up.

"Keep eating." Darwin frowned and went to the door.

A moment later, he came back with several tightly sealed paper bags.

"Thanks, Mr. Solomon." Fiona gave a fake smile and reached for the bags.

These were the clothes she had ordered.

She was genuinely worried that if Darwin got mad, he'd tear these clothes apart too and then toss them.

"Why'd you buy clothes? Planning to leave?" Darwin asked, his tone icy.

"Yeah." Fiona nodded.

Then she looked at Darwin. "I don't wanna stay here."
