Chapter 1165

Leaving Emerald Pool, Fiona and Darwin hurried straight to the airport.

Around ten that night, under a sky full of stars, they arrived Blaise, a spot that held a ton of memories for them.

The Blaise was a hot mess compared to their last visit, thanks to some ongoing construction.

Henry met up with them and took them to Fiona's old stomping grounds.

Once they got settled, Mike called.

Fiona gave Darwin a nod and stepped out to take the call.

"Did you find him?" Fiona asked.

Mike sounded ticked off. "There are barely any cameras here. I started at the parking lot where the car was found. A crappy camera caught Mr. Solomon running while on the phone..."

"Hold up," Fiona cut in. "Running?"

"Yeah, it was weird. Doesn't he usually need a cane? But he was pretty spry that day!" Mike said, sounding shocked. "But the camera's range was tiny, and he was out of frame in seconds. I found seven more cameras, all busted or turned off to save power!"

Fiona scowled.

Mike went on, "Mr. Solomon was around the edge of the busy Silverlake area. Hardly any cameras there. I found two more that caught him, but no sign of the kid."

"Keep looking!" Fiona said, her voice firm.

She couldn't wrap her head around how they couldn't find the kid in such a big area.

If Mike couldn't find him, Fiona would start thinking the kid was a plant, someone with a fake ID trying to get close to Darwin.

She didn't know the motive yet, but finding the kid would spill the beans.

Hanging up, Fiona headed back to the room.

Darwin had set up her stuff just the way she liked it.

Fiona was blown away.

The old Darwin wouldn't have been this considerate.

As she mulled this over, she saw Darwin out on the balcony.

The night sea breeze felt amazing.

Fiona slid open the door and stepped out.

Darwin turned. "Done with the call?"

"Yeah." Fiona walked over, grabbed his arm, and rested her head on it. "You okay?"

"Yeah," Darwin shook his head. "I was just thinking, it's lucky I knew you were there. If Gray and the others had nabbed me without me realizing, I might never have seen you again."

"Don't overthink it," Fiona said, touching Darwin's cheek. "Fate won't be that cruel to us."

"Yeah," Darwin nodded softly.

Then, he leaned in, his lips barely brushing hers, but Fiona deepened the kiss, unleashing her pent-up frustration.

As Darwin responded and fully immersed himself, their passion intensified amidst the romantic allure of Blaise
