Chapter 56 This Woman Looks like Fiona!

"How could I not recognize you?"

Rubert hadn't changed a bit, still sporting his silver-framed glasses and looking effortlessly stylish.

But now, he was more jacked, and his face had that grown-up vibe.

"Fiona, long time no see," he said, flashing a warm, gentle smile.

"It's been a while," Fiona replied, keeping it cool.

Thalassa jumped in, teasing, "Aren't you curious how I got in touch with Rupert?"

She knew Rupert from those summer tutoring classes.

Thalassa and Fiona used to hit those classes together.

Back then, their only worries were school and the drama of teenage love.

Thalassa was convinced Fiona and Rupert had a shot.

Even now, she hadn't let that idea go.

Whenever she played matchmaker for Fiona, Rupert was always in the mix.

"How did you meet?" Fiona asked, playing along with Thalassa.

But she didn't even glance at Rupert.

Despite Rupert's drama back then, Fiona never felt she owed him anything.

She never led him on or made any promises.

She had a ton of admirers; she couldn't be responsible for all of them.

Thalassa chimed in, "He's a big deal now, even won a physics award. Two years ago, he was a guest professor at our school. He was with some old dude, and I almost didn't recognize him!"

Fiona took a sip of her lemonade. "Got it."

Thalassa wanted to call Rupert over to sit next to Fiona.

But Fiona, smiling, said, "Hey everyone, don't just stand there, grab a seat. Thalassa's been a bit of a troublemaker tonight, but drinks are on me."

The guys had been waiting for a while. As soon as Fiona spoke, they all squeezed in next to her.

Before Thalassa could do anything, even the space between her and Fiona was filled with guys, all eager to introduce themselves to Fiona.

Fiona had never been surrounded by so many hot and diverse dudes.

Other than the noise hurting her ears, everything else was pretty sweet.

Rupert sat in the corner, sulking.

Fiona's cold shoulder was really getting to him.

Seeing all these younger guys made him even more annoyed.

Rupert drank alone, silently brooding.

Fiona, of course, didn't drink, using the excuse of an early meeting the next day.

"Kids these days have way more fun than we ever did," In a private room on the second floor of the bar, Noah Deely, the owner of Color Bar said, pushing the door open.

A few guys were drinking.

Wyatt was lounging on the sofa, swirling his drink, and asked, "How are they having fun?"

"They're picking guys," Noah said, sitting down and taking a big gulp of his drink.

"Isn't that what you used to do?" Wyatt mocked.

"I'm a dude!" Noah pointed out the window. "The bartender told me two women came in tonight with a bunch of handsome guys and are picking from them."

Wyatt didn't seem too interested.

He already knew about Fiona's antics in the capital city.

In the end, she still didn't listen to him and went back to Darwin.

"Probably two ugly chicks, right?" a rich guy joked.

Noah shook his head mysteriously. "Not at all. They're not just not ugly, they're two stunning beauties, each with their own unique charm!"

"Yeah, right, beautiful women picking men?" The other guy scoffed.

"I knew you wouldn't believe me, so I had someone snap a couple of pics!" Noah said smugly. "I'll send them to the group chat now, check it out!"

Wyatt's phone buzzed twice.

He wasn't really interested, but the others were all over it, gasping in surprise.

"She's hot, but not my type. The one in the middle..." Noah suddenly frowned.

Then he looked at Wyatt. "Wyatt, take a look. Doesn't she look a bit like Darwin's secretary?"

Wyatt pulled out his phone and opened the group chat.

In the photo, Fiona was rocking a black dress, her long hair slightly curled and draped over her shoulders.

Someone was handing her a drink.

She reached out, her eyes downcast, looking super chill.

Noah said, "I must be mistaken. This woman is so alluring and seductive. Darwin's secretary is so gentle and soft. They can't be the same person."

"Noah, delete the photo!" Wyatt said urgently.

"Why?" Noah was puzzled.

"Darwin is in this group! Delete it!" Wyatt shouted.

Noah, still confused, quickly complied.

They were all friends, but Darwin was a different breed; he was a tough character. No one dared to mess with him.

"It's too late, I can't delete it," Noah said, his face pale.

Wyatt was exasperated.

"Then just chat about something else to push the message up!" He gritted his teeth.

Wyatt roughly knew Darwin didn't usually check these group chats.

But he was still worried about Fiona.

The gathering didn't wrap up until after one o'clock.

Fiona made sure each of the drunk guys got into a car.

"Miss, please reply to my messages in the future," the last one said, holding Fiona's hand, his eyes blinking, looking very reluctant. "You're really my ideal type. I've never been in a relationship, I'm pure..."

"Get going!" Thalassa, drunk, pushed his head into the car.

As the car drove off, he stuck his head out, shouting, "I'll miss you!"

Fiona stayed silent.

"Idiot!" Thalassa leaned on Fiona, laughing loudly. "Girl, your charm hasn't faded... no, it's even stronger than before. You totally captivated all eight of them tonight!"

"And you have the nerve to say that! It's one thing to find playboys, but these innocent ones? You're just ruining them." Fiona tapped Thalassa's forehead.

Thalassa leaned back.

Fiona, afraid she might fall, quickly held her.

Thalassa took the opportunity to hug Fiona. "Of course, I should find the best for you! No playboys! Impossible!"

Fiona couldn't help but laugh.

"Fiona, let me help." Rupert's voice cut in.

The smile on Fiona's face immediately vanished.

Rupert came over to support Thalassa.

Thalassa slapped his hand away, then put her arm around Fiona's shoulder, turning to point at Rupert. "You jerk, didn't you say you liked Fiona a lot back then? What was with the sudden disappearance?"

Rupert's face turned a bit pale.

He looked at Fiona. "Fiona, you didn't..."

"Leave, I'll take her home." Fiona didn't want Rupert to say anything stupid in front of Thalassa, her expression and tone both cold.

As she finished speaking, a car pulled up by the roadside.
