Chapter 963
For Xavier and those who had been with Darwin for a long time, the difference before and after his amnesia was significant.
After losing his memory, Darwin became much gentler, although his speech still carried an undertone of aloofness. The contrast with the past Darwin was huge.
So, when Darwin briefly reverted to his old self, Xavier caught it immediately.
"Mr. Solomon?" Xavier's voice tinged with hope.
However...
"The fall last time wasn't your fault. I have explained it to Fiona; there's no need to be overly cautious." The sharp Darwin seemed to exist for just a second. The next moment, he returned to his warm demeanor.
Xavier responded.
Darwin, leaning on his cane, walked inside.
Xavier rubbed his face, feeling a persistent guilt since Mr. Solomon's accident happened under his watch.
Now, even though Mr. Solomon was back, whether his leg would fully recover was uncertain, not to mention his lost memories. Darwin seemed like a completely different person.
While the previous Mr. Solomon was ruthless and demanded strictness, there was no trace of that harshness in his current gentle demeanor; Xavier still hoped that Darwin would quickly regain his memories and return to his former self.
Xavier thought to himself, 'Perhaps he is hoping too much; he is starting to have delusions.'
What he had just seen was probably just an illusion.
Darwin returned to the courtyard where the children were busy with their activities. He sat down on a sun lounger to soak up the sunlight. Jessie, who had lost its dog bed, was originally lying outside Charles's door. When it saw Darwin return, Jessie approached Darwin with a sense of grievance, whining softly before obediently lying down beside him.
Darwin lay there for a moment.
Whether it was because its dog bed was taken or it felt wronged, Jessie suddenly got up, a bit anxious, and nudged Darwin's hand with its wet nose.
Darwin comforted it for a moment, but Jessie still seemed anxious.
Unconsciously, Darwin's expression changed.
Sensing his displeasure, Jessie suddenly lowered its head in fear, moved a bit away, and lay back down, looking pitifully at Darwin a few steps away.
Darwin felt helpless. "I bought you a new dog bed; it will be delivered tomorrow."
Jessie didn't move. It just kept looking at Darwin.
The postnatal care center was not far from the Walker family. It only took a few minutes to walk there.
Fiona bought some food that Thalassa liked and could eat now.
When she reached the door, Fiona heard Thalassa earnestly persuading Kenny. "Honey, you're a trained doctor. We plan to pick up our medical careers again, right? Having a child is normal; I'm not the only one, you can't reject our daughter over this!"
"I'm not rejecting her. Have this." Kenny's voice remained calm and gentle.
Thalassa's voice became muffled afterward, indicating that Kenny had successfully fed her.
"Don't just shut me up with food; Scarlet said you haven't even held her once." Upon hearing this, Fiona knocked on the door.
Thalassa knew knew it was Fiona. Before even seeing her, Thalassa began to act coy. "Fiona, you're finally back!"
Fiona, holding the food, glanced at Kenny.
Kenny gave her a helpless look.
Fiona's arrival shifted Thalassa's attention. She happily chatted with Fiona while eating.
Fiona walked to the baby's crib.
