Chapter 933

Burl took Charles to the restroom and came back with a face as pale as a sheet of paper.

Burl couldn't sit still anymore. He didn't stay long before walking to the corner.

Fiona sensed something was wrong with him. She went over to check on him.

Then she heard Burl crying and praying, "God, I can trade my ten years of life for Thalassa's smooth delivery without any problems. Please, I beg you, I implore you."

Fiona frowned. "Burl, what nonsense are you talking about?"

Burl was startled.

He turned around, and tears were already streaming down his face. "Fiona..."

"What's wrong?" Fiona rarely saw Burl like this and quickly asked with concern.

"A woman had an amniotic fluid embolism during the day and died." Burl said, his lips trembling as he spoke, "How can a woman die giving birth to a child?"

When he took Charles to the restroom earlier, he met the family of that woman.

When he heard about such a thing, Burl was numb.

In addition, Thalassa had been in the delivery room for so long, occasionally he could hear some screams but was not sure if these screams came from her.

The more he thought about it, the more frightened he became.

"The probability of that is very low; don't overthink it." Fiona patted Burl's head.

"Don’t have children! Neither you nor Thalassa should have any more children in the future!" Burl was crying so much that snot was about to come out.

"Wipe your tears; if Chicago sees you like this, she will be scared," Fiona continued.

Burl quickly took out a tissue to wipe his tears.

After he calmed down a bit, he followed Fiona back to wait outside the delivery room.

Next to the delivery room, there was a waiting area for family members.

Janna and Scarlet, both about to fall asleep at this hour, were sitting there.

Janna had been praying all along.

Scarlet also touched the cross on her chest, occasionally looking outside.

At 5:00 a.m. the door of the delivery room finally opened.

A nurse came out carrying a wrinkled baby. "Congratulations, it's a girl, 3 pounds 0.5 ounces!"

"A girl?" Matt rushed out from the waiting area, his usual dignity gone.

Scarlet hadn't even had time to put on her shoes, but she also ran out.

Fiona was close to the baby, and she saw at a glance the little girl with big and bright eyes looking around.

Fiona's eyes welled up, tears almost rolling down.

"Where's Thalassa?" she immediately asked, "Is she okay?"

"She's fine. Take the baby to the room first; the mother has to wait a bit longer."

"Why does she have to wait a bit longer? Is she okay?" Burl couldn't hold back and burst into tears as soon as he spoke, "She's okay, right?"

The nurse chuckled and said, "She's fine, of course she's fine. Her husband is with her; hey, someone comes to take the baby!"

It was only then that everyone reacted.

Scarlet stepped forward, carefully holding the baby in her arms.

Chicago's eyes never left the little girl.

"Oh, so pretty! So beautiful!" Scarlet said, squatting down to show Chicago the baby. "Sweetie, come and see the baby!"

Chicago's eyes sparkled, and she greeted with gentleness and a soft voice, as if afraid of scaring the baby..
