Chapter 1126
He finished roaring, then sighed in relief.
"Alright, you got me. Do whatever you want." He leaned back, hands spread out.
"Antony, do you really think I caused this mess?" Darwin asked seriously.
Antony squinted. "What else? Why do you think the White family had to choose? Why didn't we bring Sophia back even after you lost your memory?"
He looked at Darwin. "Because I know how ruthless you are."
"So, it was still your choice," Darwin said coldly. "You're smart enough to free your sister, but you never did. Do I need to explain why?"
"Darwin, stop twisting things. You want me, the victim, to take the blame?" Antony shouted.
Darwin stayed calm.
"You've worked for me for years. You know me," he continued. "Would I really destroy your sister? You didn't bring her out because you were afraid she'd cause more trouble. Isn't that what you told your grandparents?"
Darwin paused.
Then, calmly, he said, "I never said you could bring her out, so you can't now. If I find out you do it secretly, the White family will suffer."
Antony's face went pale, then red.
Darwin added, "As for whether your sister is really insane, it's in the hospital records."
Antony's breathing quickened.
"And this." Darwin pulled out a small remote.
He turned on the LCD screen in the room.
Antony and Fiona looked over.
Sophia's face appeared, much thinner and pale.
"What is this?" Antony asked Darwin, panicked.
"Surveillance from her hospital room," Darwin replied.
Antony's breathing got even faster.
Then, Sophia's voice came through. "Antony, will you take me home this time?"
Antony turned to the screen, shocked.
Sophia laughed. "I just found out Darwin only planned to keep me for six months. During the holidays, the doctor even asked if you wanted to take me home! You refused, said I was fine here!"
She had overheard the medical staff talking.
"Every time you visited, I told you I was good, that I wouldn't cause trouble! But you still kept me locked up!" Sophia wiped her face, breaking down. "You're my brother. Why do you hate me so much? Darwin said I could leave, but you still keep me here!"
She seemed very anxious.
She paced back and forth.
Then, leaning towards the camera, she said, "Today is your last chance! I'll beg you one more time. If you still refuse to sign the papers to let me out, you'll regret it for the rest of your life!"
