Chapter 665 Incredible Logic

As Fiona felt trapped, a sudden strike hit Annie's arm, making her cry out in pain and drop the needle she was holding.

Annie winced, clutching her wrist, her gaze shocked as a tall man approached from Fiona's side.

Fiona glanced over, recognizing one of Robert's assassins.

Crimson Mirage, as he was known, looked at Fiona impassively before turning his attention to Annie. "The young master ordered not to kill her."

Crimson was merciless; with just two moves, Annie's wrist swelled.

Yet Annie, seemingly oblivious to the pain, appeared frantic, her eyes red with anger. "She's the one who killed my sister. Why does she get to live? Why?"

"The young master chose between Darwin and Fiona. Darwin was the one to die," Crimson stated coldly, his words causing Fiona's heart to skip a beat.

'Darwin, remember, we still have Charles and Chicago. They can't lose both parents.

'So don't let yourself be fooled!'

"Robert doesn't have the final say in this!" Annie's voice was resolute. "Whether it's Fiona or Darwin, they're both going to die!"

Crimson remained silent, stepping forward to stand before Fiona.

"Miss Annie, the young master has a message for you." Crimson's gaze bore into Annie's, his lips twitching mechanically. "He fully agrees with your sentiment, that those who have wronged Miss Hathaway should pay with blood and life."

"Then why doesn't Robert kill Fiona?!" Annie's anger flared.

"The young master believes Fiona and Darwin are not the primary culprits," Crimson replied calmly. "Initially, the Solomon family intended Miss Rose for marriage, didn't they?"

Annie was taken aback.

"It was you who advocated for Miss Rose, displacing Miss Hathaway from that engagement," Crimson clarified.

"Hathaway came to me because she wanted Darwin!" Annie interjected quickly.

"You were aware of Darwin's mistress for five years, as you confessed to my young master," Crimson stated.

"Isn't it normal for men to have mistresses? Didn't Robert's father have one? Hathaway knew about it too," Annie's words became disjointed.

In her discussions with Darwin about their marriage, she assumed he would bring along the canary he had raised for five years.

Throughout those years, wherever they went, he always brought the bird.

At that time, Hathaway had made a decision. If she encountered the mistress, she planned to offer her money and better job opportunities to leave Darwin.

She understood that no amount of money could match Darwin's wealth.

She was also prepared to make the woman vanish if she persisted in staying with Darwin despite the offers.

However, Darwin hadn't intended to inform the mistress of the engagement so soon.

Consequently, he didn't bring her along during their discussions.

"I had someone monitoring her every move!" Annie suddenly pointed at Fiona. "As soon as the media reported Hathaway and Darwin's engagement, she resigned and vacated the house Darwin provided. I wonder if this was her ploy to win him back."

"No matter what you say, you can't change the fact that you killed Miss Hathaway," Crimson declared, lifting his leg and retrieving a gleaming dagger from his shin.

"Crimson, what are you doing?"

"I apologize. You never married or had children. Otherwise, I'd happily dispatch a few souls to accompany you in hell, so you wouldn't be alone," Crimson spoke slowly.

Annie hadn't anticipated this turn of events.

Despite her alliance with Robert, he was now poised to attack her at this crucial juncture!

"Crimson."

In that moment, Fiona, who had remained silent, spoke up from behind Crimson.

Crimson turned to face her.

Meeting his gaze, Fiona said, "So when you kill people, wiping out entire families, is it to spare them from being alone?"

Crimson appeared taken aback by Fiona's willingness to engage.

Nevertheless, he was willing to entertain the conversation.

"Yes, but the world is too foolish to comprehend our fraternal intentions," Crimson scoffed, "including you and your husband."

"You've stated it, and now I understand," Fiona paused briefly. "But what I don't understand is why you chose freezing for the family of twenty-seven but used a chaotic sword for the family of eight. Did they offend you in some way?"

Crimson sneered. "It wasn't much of an offense. During the day, my younger brother and their child crossed paths, and he ridiculed my brother's scar. What's humorous about having a scar? So, we decided to mark each member of their family with a scar, to teach them that it's nothing to be ashamed of. Hopefully, they'll learn not to mock others."

Fiona was deeply disturbed by this rationale.

"Alexander, is that his name?" Crimson continued. "His family is very polite, especially his grandmother. When we worked at their house, she was always concerned about us straining our backs and would treat us to delicious food. You see, before freezing to death, the departed experience minimal pain. They slip into a peaceful slumber. It's one of the least agonizing ways to depart. We did it all for the grandmother's sake."

At that moment, it appeared he recalled something unpleasant.

"However, it appears the grandmother failed to grasp our gratitude. Before we rendered her unconscious and placed her in the cold storage, she cursed at us. But we didn't harbor any resentment or reconsider tormenting her family."

As he concluded, it seemed he suddenly realized something.

His expression shifted abruptly, and before he could react, a powerful electric surge coursed through his body.

He didn't even manage a scream of agony.

The towering figure collapsed silently to the ground.

Annie gripped Fiona's stun gun tightly, seated motionless on the floor, sweat glistening on her face.

"Why are you just sitting there? Keep electrocuting him. What if he wakes up later?" Fiona scowled, her voice lowered in admonishment to Annie.

Annie looked at Fiona, tears streaming down her face.

"He won't kill you, you know that very well. Why did you give me a chance? Why did you save me? I want to end you, Fiona! Are you out of your mind?"

As Annie spoke, Crimson, prone on the ground, suddenly twitched.

"Could you please stop the lamenting? Finish him off!" Fiona's anxiety was mounting.
