Chapter 1285
Rose's face turned bright red.
"I have no idea how to handle this data. Did you give it to me just to mess with me?" she snapped.
"Oh, so you know you can't do it? And you still want to be my secretary? This is basic stuff, and you can't even manage that. Ms. Everhart, tell me, what job should I give you? Serving tea? Greeting guests?" Fiona asked, tapping the table.
Rose's face got even redder.
Serving tea and greeting guests were exactly what she did when she worked for Hubert.
"Nothing to say?" Fiona asked when Rose stayed silent. "If you have nothing to say, then leave. I have a meeting to attend."
Rose clenched her fists.
She glared at Fiona, then turned to Henry. "Mr. Clark, could you step out for a moment? I need to talk to Fiona alone."
Henry was speechless.
After all, Fiona had arranged for Rose to be here.
Henry had been pretty considerate of Rose.
Unfortunately, Rose couldn't do anything right and only knew how to throw tantrums.
He instinctively looked at Fiona.
Fiona didn't look up but nodded. "Go ahead."
"Yes." Henry hesitated but eventually nodded and turned to leave.
Rose didn't think much of Henry.
The executives at the Solomon Group always seemed to follow Fiona around like shadows, treating her like their leader.
If she said go east, they wouldn't dare go west.
The heavy office door closed softly.
Fiona looked up at Rose. "Keep it brief and to the point."
Rose's eyes darkened, and she crossed her arms with a cold smile. "Fiona, you seem to enjoy being worshipped and elevated by these men, feeling like a goddess, don't you?"
Fiona was taken aback.
She hadn't expected Rose to start with that.
Before she could respond, Rose, as if she had guessed Fiona's thoughts, hummed triumphantly and then said in a threatening tone, "But have you ever considered that hormonal imbalance is a significant issue? Take Grandma Mitchell and Uncle Aiden, for example. If Grandma Mitchell weren't so domineering and took care of the family like an ordinary woman..."
"The Solomon family would have gone bankrupt fifty years ago," Fiona said succinctly.
Rose's smug expression cracked for a moment.
"All you see is money? It was Brooke's dominance that drove Aiden insane. The same thing is happening with you and Darwin. Don't you get it?" Rose raised her voice. "Fiona, Aiden was driven mad by Brooke, and Darwin was driven mad by you! If you keep this up, even if Hubert temporarily cures Darwin, it won't be long before he ends up like Aiden! I'm telling you this so you can wake up! Stop basking in men's adoration and go home to take care of your kids and family."
"I always thought you were just arrogant, but I never imagined you could be so backward," Fiona said with a wry smile, "Get out, you're wasting my time."
"Don't you believe me? My mom used to tell Aunt Marisole the same thing, but Aunt Marisole didn't believe her either. Look what happened!" Rose became agitated. "Why do you always have to surround yourself with men? Don't you love Darwin? Isn't it enough to focus on him alone?"
"Ms. Everhart," Fiona stood up and said, "I am not anyone's appendage. Do you know why it seems like I'm surrounded by men in your eyes? It's because too many fools like you choose to numb themselves in the abyss, preventing awakened women from climbing higher. But this won't last long. In the near future, more and more women will have the power to decide their own fate alongside men."
"That's wrong!" Rose clenched her fists tightly. "Even Brooke later reflected on whether she should have been so domineering, but you remain stubborn!"
"Brooke's reflection was about the harm she caused by oppressing Aiden, not regretting her successful career," Fiona said firmly.
Rose's eyes wavered.
Back then, Brooke did indeed say she regretted restraining Aiden.
