Chapter 1335

Emrys nodded. "Yeah, it's been like that for a few days now."

"Did she hold all the medicine bottles in her hand?" Fiona asked.

Emrys shook his head. "No, just the white one like in the video. She wouldn't touch the others."

He paused and added, "After Grandma got confused, there was one time she opened a bottle and took some pills, almost losing her life. I gave her a good talking to, and since then, she hasn't touched any bottles at home."

"I see," Fiona said with a smile and a nod.

They had just arrived at the hotel entrance.

"If your relatives give you a hard time again, Christopher will protect you," Fiona said gently. "After Vespera's funeral, I'll get a lawyer to sort out your disputes."

"Mom already told me." Emrys looked at Fiona, his voice suddenly choked with emotion. "Grandma didn't want to give it to them, and I won't back down!"

"Alright," Fiona said with a gentle smile, lightly patting Emrys's arm. "Go on in."

Emrys nodded, then turned and walked into the night.

Chicago and Charles also watched his back.

"Aren't you tired?" Fiona asked, pulling her hand back.

"Not tired." They shook their head.

Fiona led them to the hotel room.

When it was just Charles and Fiona, Chicago couldn't stop talking. "These people are so bad!"

She continued, "Emrys is so good-looking, how could they hit Emrys's face? So bad!"

"It's not okay to hit anyone, good-looking or not," Fiona said, lightly patting her butt. "Why are you so focused on looks, just like your grandma!"

"Mommy cares about looks too. Just look at how handsome my dad is!" Chicago retorted immediately.

Fiona laughed.

Then she looked at Charles. "Look at Chicago! She's so smart, she can figure things out from just one example!"

Charles just smiled.

He silently peeled an orange and split it in half, handing one half to Fiona and the other to Chicago.

Despite saying she wasn't tired, Chicago fell asleep as soon as she finished her bath.

It was only after Chicago fell asleep that Charles tugged at Fiona's hand.

"What's up?" Fiona leaned in, her nose touching his.

Charles had been in a bad mood all day, and Fiona could sense it, so she tried to keep him away from the Blacksmith family as much as possible.

His dislike for the Blacksmith family was obvious.

"I saw grandma's full name on the tombstone, so I looked it up on Uncle Brul's search engine and found this," Charles said, handing his phone to Fiona.

Fiona took it and looked at Charles in surprise. "What made you think to look this up?"

Charles replied, "I don't think Emrys and his parents are the type to steal. If something is really missing, we should find out."

Fiona patted Charles's head. "Charles, you're so smart!"

On the phone screen was a long list of donation records.

The donor was always Vespera, and the donations ranged from $80,000 to over $7 million for a pair of bracelets.

The recipients were various charitable organizations, and the beneficiaries were all young girls. The donations were mainly for education and living expenses.

Vespera had been with Brooke for a long time.

She had learned to be very meticulous from Brooke.

These recipient organizations were all legitimate, and the online database had legally binding documents.

Showing this information would effectively dispel the doubts of Emrys's relatives.

"Mommy," Charles said and looked at Fiona, "I will never fight with Chicago over any inheritance. I will earn a lot of money for Chicago."

Fiona immediately smiled and hugged the serious-looking Charles. "I'm not worried about that at all. Chicago and you are the two best kids in the world. You will always love each other, and even if your dad and I are no longer around, you will support each other. I know that."
