Chapter 1084

Darwin just sat there, apparently lost in thought.

If she were alive, harboring hatred in her heart, who could say for sure whether she would retaliate like that fool named Abigail?

Their lives were insignificant.

If such insignificant lives brought additional risks and hazards to his wife and children, it would be totally not worth it.

Only the dead were the safest.

The dead were the most reassuring.

"What are you thinking about?" Fiona snapped her fingers in front of Darwin.

Darwin snapped back to reality. "I was thinking about what to wear to Chicago's opening ceremony the day after tomorrow."

"Since when do you need to worry about that?" Fiona yawned, pressing her hand against his back. "I'm so tired, let's sleep!"

"Okay," Darwin responded.

He went back to the third-floor bedroom with Fiona.

In this deep night, public opinion was completely and recklessly fermenting on the internet.

After Stella and the others left, Angela was once again pacing anxiously in front of the church.

It wasn't until the churchgoers called the police that she cursed, put on her shoes, and ran away.

She didn't have much money on her to begin with.

She could only walk a long distance to find a $25-a-night inn.

After causing a scene in front of the church for so long, she felt exhausted too.

She took a bath in the public bathhouse and then lay down on the bed for a while.

She slept until around eleven or twelve and was woken up by hunger.

It seemed like someone was selling donuts at the night market outside.

She checked the meager balance on her phone.

Feeling even more distressed, she had spent hundreds of dollars on these two trips to this cold church. But no matter how much it hurt, she still needed to eat.

She cursed as she got up and walked outside.

"This woman is too shameless. Her daughter killed a child, and she still has the nerve to act so righteously!"

"Because she's crazy, she won't be punished, and she feels emboldened!"

"I'm so angry, I really hope God punishes her!"

"That's true, how dare she shamelessly return to the church to cause trouble! These poor churchgoers looked so pitiful, almost crying, yet they had to endure this bad woman's insults!"

The more Angela listened, the more she felt something was wrong.

This inn was cheap, and quite a few people stayed here.

Those who weren't asleep were sitting in the lobby, chatting and enjoying the air conditioning.

As Angela came downstairs, someone immediately noticed her.

"Oh my God!" someone exclaimed, "Isn't this the shameless bad woman from the video?"

Everyone's eyes turned towards her.

Angela trembled all over.

"What nonsense? You've got the wrong person!" she said, turning to run upstairs.
