Chapter 1010

Alexander spoke, lowering his eyelids. "I will live well in the future. If possible, I will do my best to help in the church. You don't have to worry."

He said many things in front of the grave. Seeing that the time was almost up, he stood up, glanced at Father Ben, and then turned to find Stella.

Stella was sitting opposite Mason, watching him eat breakfast.

"Are you really not coming with me?" she asked.

Mason sighed helplessly. "Mrs. Beaumont, you've already tricked Father Alexander away; let me go!"

Stella laughed speechlessly. "What do you mean I tricked him? It was Alexander who tricked me."

"Same thing," Mason said, taking a sip of soy milk.

Then, the two suddenly fell silent.

After a while, Alexander arrived.

Mason waved to Stella. "Father Alexander is here; you should go. I still have to sweep the leaves, so I won't see you off."

Stella nodded. "Got it."

Mason lowered his eyes, not looking at her. "You should still listen to what I said that day."

"Alright." Stella nodded.

"Goodbye."

"Okay."

Stella stood up.

Mason still didn't lift his head, his hand gripping the edge of the cup.

"Mason!" Suddenly, Stella called out to him.

He instinctively looked up, his eyes filled with tears.

"What?" he asked irritably.

"I'm always ready to be your mom," Stella said seriously.

Mason immediately looked away but couldn't stop the tears from falling into the cup.

Stella, afraid she might cry too, waved at him. "I'm leaving."

She walked over to Alexander.

Alexander patted her head and took her hand.

Mason, in the end, did not go to see Stella off that day.

It was Liam who took them to the parking lot.

"Liam, call me if you need anything," Alexander instructed Liam.

"I know," Liam said, "By the way, I've been busy with Father Ben's affairs these past few days and forgot to mention something. The family of the woman with schizophrenia contacted us. However, after leaving our church, they were scammed out of a lot of money and can no longer afford her treatment."

"Just give me their contact information," Alexander said, "I'll take care of it."

"Alright!" Liam nodded. "If you can really help, that would be great."

Liam gave Alexander the contact information and said a few more words.

Before the sun fully rose, Alexander and Stella set off back to North Alabama.

Liam stood there, watching their car go further and further until it disappeared at the end of the road. Then he sighed deeply.

On his way back to the church, he returned a call to Betty. After a long time, the call was finally answered.

"I'll kill you all!" As soon as the call connected, Liam heard Patricia's sharp roar.

"Liam, I'm sorry, my daughter is having an episode!" Betty's helpless voice came from the other line.

Liam said, "I'm sorry to bother you. The kind person I mentioned a few days ago should contact you soon. You don't have to worry about the medical expenses; they will take care of it."
