Chapter 155 Park, Dogs, and Grandparents

"Well, Chicago can't sleep in tomorrow!" Fiona ruffled her hair.

Chicago bounced with excitement. "Okay, yay!" She then looked at Charles, who became quiet at the mention of pets.

"Brother, you can't go to the park, but godmother said there's a great science museum here. Let's go after the park!"

Charles's ears reddened. "Whatever, I'm fine with anything."

"Alright, little monkey, go take a bath!" Fiona said, handing her over to Wendy.

The next day, Fiona and Chicago went to the community's private park. Fiona dressed Chicago in cute overalls and yellow rain boots. Chicago busied herself greeting the elderly residents and their dogs.

"Except for the big black dog, all dogs are good dogs!" Chicago said, returning to Fiona's side after playing.

Fiona's heart tightened at the mention, recalling a past incident with a dangerous dog. But Chicago was brave, approaching even large dogs without fear.

"Mommy doesn't need to be brave. Chicago and big brother will protect you!" Chicago declared.

Fiona kissed her twice, despite Chicago's protests about being sweaty.

Suddenly, a tall shadow loomed over them.

Fiona turned and froze. "Chelsea," she greeted Wyatt, who looked unchanged and still carried a playboy air.

"Chelsea?" Wyatt was briefly confused, then smiled. "The Wall Street star, right?"

Fiona downplayed the compliment.

Wyatt, surprised to see Fiona alive, softened when he saw Chicago.

"Good morning!" Chicago greeted politely.

Wyatt crouched down. "Good girl, come here."

Chicago looked to Fiona, who nodded. Wyatt had once helped her and her brother.

"Five years old, right?" Wyatt asked.

"Yes," Fiona confirmed.

Wyatt became emotional. "So good!"

"How are you?" Fiona asked sincerely.

"Not bad. I left Solomon five years ago. Haven't had much contact with anyone."

Fiona didn't press further.

"So, you're back?" Wyatt asked.

"Just for a job, then I'll leave," Fiona replied.

Wyatt touched Chicago's cheek but didn't ask for contact information, nor did Fiona.

After playing with Chicago, Wyatt stood to leave.

Fiona thanked him for past help.

"I had my reasons," Wyatt said quietly.

Fiona didn't catch that. "What?"

"No need to thank me," Wyatt smiled.

Fiona offered future help, but Wyatt declined, mentioning Janna's assistance during a financial crisis.

The crisis had been resolved by Fiona on Janna's behalf, but she kept it to herself.

After exchanging pleasantries, Fiona left with Chicago.

Wyatt watched them go, feeling a weight lift from his heart.

"It's time to look ahead," he whispered to himself.
The grandfather had mentioned the daughter of a mining tycoon a few days ago, praising her character and expressing a desire to meet her. He also wished for a few adorable daughters like her.

"Mummy, who is that handsome man?" Chicago asked in a sweet, childlike voice.

Fiona paused before answering seriously, "He is a very good person. When you and your brother were in Mummy's tummy, a big villain wanted to take you away. He saved you and Mummy, otherwise, we wouldn't be able to see each other!"
