Chapter 1048

Burl carried his laptop with him, just in case it was needed.

Soon, he was seated in another interrogation room.

"This familiar feeling," he said with a slight cough as he sat down.

Scarlet looked puzzled. "Burl, have you been in an interrogation room before?"

"Got caught hacking into a company website under Solomons' name," Fiona answered.

"All part of my dark past!" Burl muttered. Then he flexed his fingers and began searching the internet for accounts based on Alfonso and Herman's identity information.

The first useful thing he found was in Herman's cloud backup. The latest backup contained a few chat logs.

Burl immediately downloaded them.

"It's a chat log with Alfonso." Burl confirmed after checking the timestamp. "From the night Arnold was murdered."

Fiona and the others quickly gathered to take a look.

Herman: [Do you think Arnold will fall for it?]

Alfonso: [Women are afraid of men who keep pestering them, and the reverse is true as well. I've already talked to Abigail; she'll take photos and videos as needed. With this material, Arnold will have to follow our orders!]

Herman: [Alfonso, isn't this a bit too much? Arnold has been good to us.]

Alfonso: [I want a promotion. Are you content being a security guard for life?]

Alfonso: [Doesn't the Walker family's wealth tempt you? Scarlet can wear a piece of jewelry out, and it's worth more than what we earn in a lifetime. It's just not fair!]

Alfonso: [Herman, once we deal with Arnold, we can steal a few pieces of jewelry, and you'll have plenty of women for the rest of your life!]

Herman: [Let's talk about it later.]

Alfonso: [You'd better not waver. We're in this together now. You begged me to get Abigail involved. If this blows up, we'll both be kicked out. You'll never find another job that is this good in your life.]

Herman: [Alfonso, I know. I won't. Don't worry.]

The chat log ended there.

"Why did Herman save this chat log?" Anna frowned.

"What else? To betray us," Scarlet sneered.

She believed she had treated her subordinates well in every aspect of life.

But in the end, the greedy remained greedy, and the envious remained envious.

Scarlet's eyes reddened again as she spoke, "That wicked woman Abigail, killing Arnold wasn't enough; she had to ruin his reputation too!"

This chat log was a form of compensation for Arnold.

"Keep searching," Fiona ordered.

Abigail had been telling half-truths all along.

Fiona knew that finding the hidden half of the truth was the key to striking her down.

After reading the chat log, Fiona already had suspicions. But suspicion alone wasn't enough. She needed concrete evidence to drive Abigail mad with despair!

Burl went through all of Herman's social media accounts. There was no more useful information.

Then it was Alfonso's turn.

Alfonso's online presence was much more chaotic. His social media accounts were filled with traces of him harassing women on the internet. It was disgusting.

However, none of it was related to Abigail.

Just as Burl was starting to lose hope, an officer knocked on the door and provided a suspicious lead. "Alfonso's account has several deposits in dollars, listed as payment for articles."

Burl took the information.

The payer details were very thorough.

Burl immediately searched on his engine.

The information seemed to appear legitimate and normal. But Burl still found some inconsistencies.

Burl said, "This is a middleman platform. The real payer isn't them."
