Chapter 1125
"Something happen to the White family?" Fiona asked softly.
Even though the Whites had been declining for years, they still had the remnants of an old aristocratic family.
It seemed impossible for something to happen to them without any rumors.
Antony heard Fiona's question, then looked down and chuckled. "Fiona, everyone says you're a good person. Why haven't you thought about giving my sister a chance?"
Fiona was taken aback.
She remembered Sophia, who always provoked her at the Whites' wedding.
"She was just jealous of you, but didn't you get your revenge later?" Antony looked at Fiona with despair. "She was my only sister. Darwin forced me to send her to a mental hospital, driving her insane! She was only 24!"
He shouted hysterically.
"Antony." Darwin, who spoke coldly.
Antony's body stiffened.
Then, he raised his bloodshot eyes and looked at Darwin.
"It was your sister who did wrong, and it was the White family who made the decision." Darwin's tone was calm. "After my incident, you had many chances to get her out, but you chose your interests. Why am I at fault now?"
Antony's face twitched, his expression turning ferocious.
"Do you think I didn't investigate before coming? I did," Darwin continued, "Fiona said you were one of the people I trusted most. You betrayed me, so I sought answers first."
Antony suddenly became agitated.
"You knew everything and still asked me why I did it!" He slammed the table, roaring.
Darwin instinctively protected Fiona.
"What exactly happened?" Fiona frowned, sensing it wasn't just about Sophia.
Antony said, "Destroy their family."
"Three or four months ago, Antony took his wife and child to visit Sophia. While they took Sophia out for a relax, she seized a moment when Antony was absent and ignited gasoline in the car, causing herself, Antony's wife, and child to burn to death." Darwin summarized the horrific event in one sentence.
A loud noise rang in Fiona's ears.
She had met Antony's wife twice; she was very gentle and quiet.
"Such a big incident, why..." Fiona didn't finish. She suddenly realized.
"For a family that values honor above all else, the White family, such a choice was inevitable," Darwin continued.
"Family honor." Antony suddenly laughed. "But now, none of it exists, does it? I betrayed you. How could someone as ruthless as you spare the White family? Honor and the White family, none of it will exist anymore!"
Fiona frowned deeply.
So, Antony knew from the beginning that the matter would be exposed.
This was his revenge on Darwin and the White family.
"Antony, why did you do this?" Fiona asked quietly, "You're such a good lawyer. Even if you left the White family, you'd still have a bright future."
"My wife and child are dead! What do I need all this for!" Antony roared, "Do you know how I've been living these past few months? Because of family honor, my grandparents and parents threatened me with their deaths. My wife and child couldn't even have a funeral! Every night, I dream of my wife and child begging me for help in the flames!"
