Chapter 122 The Delusional Clown

Tsk tsk.

He didn't fall for it.

"What is Darwin doing?" Mia asked in astonishment. "How could he leave Lilian here and chase after another woman?"

Wyatt approached, his hands in his pockets, looking down on Mia from above.

"You really went all out when you pushed Fiona just now," Wyatt said slowly.

Mia wanted to explain. Wyatt's demeanor suddenly turned dangerous, his face cold. "If anything happens to her, you're finished, I mean it, finished in the literal sense."

"Wyatt... She was trying to protect me, why do you have to scare her?" Lilian asked with a hint of anger.

"Lilian, long time no see. How did you end up like this?" Wyatt asked.

Lilian thought didn't he consider bringing a wheelchair for her?

Wyatt didn't bother answering her.

He looked in the direction Fiona had left. He watched as she clutched her stomach, not sure if her babies were hurt.

Fiona was worried about that too. If a man was gone, he was gone, but her two angelic babies must be safe.

"Fiona!" Darwin caught up with Fiona before she got into the car.

"What are you planning to do now?" Fiona asked impatiently.

"I want you to listen to my explanation!" Darwin grabbed her arm and said gravely.

"No need for that, Darwin. I've already said I won't be the trouble you can't get rid of. Lilian is back, and I won't be intruding anymore," Fiona paused for a moment, "I thought, since the first time you lied to me, I had already anticipated this outcome!"

"It's not like that!" Darwin furrowed his brows. "I was afraid you'd keep thinking about the substitute, so I didn't want to tell you when I found out she was back."

"Ah, so it's still my fault?" Fiona sneered.

"My fault..." Darwin's tone softened, almost pleading, "Fiona, I no longer have those obsessions with her. Now, all I want is to live a good life with you."

Fiona remained silent.

Darwin continued, "Lilian was forced to marry into a royal family in Europe by my grandmother, my mother, and her own family. Her husband was no good. Afterward the wedding, he treated her very badly, with domestic violence and infidelity and even forced her to undergo sterilization surgery." Fiona frowned deeply.

"Ultimately, it was my responsibility for marrying her off. I just wanted to help her recover from her illness and return to a normal life sooner, so that I could feel less guilty," Darwin gently stroked Fiona's wrist bone. "Her current situation is terrible. The day before yesterday, I told her that I was going to marry you, but I didn't expect her to overdose on sleeping pills and attempt suicide yesterday."

Hearing these things from him, Fiona felt a suffocating despair in her.

"What if she never gets better? Will you continue to take care of her?" she asked.

"She won't continue to be like this. I have already contacted the most authoritative experts!" Darwin reassured her.

"Darwin, I can't believe in you anymore," Fiona looked at him. "Let's both calm down and think about it."

"Fiona..." Darwin still held her hand tightly.

"What do you want me to do? Forget that I was once her substitute and take care of your first love like a virtuous wife?" Fiona let out a bitter laugh. "She doesn't look too good, so go back to her quickly."

"Then promise me you won't run away and wait for me at home!" Darwin insisted stubbornly.

Fiona mocked him with two laughs.

"Mr. Solomon still has a hold on my loved ones, don't I dare to run away?"

Darwin's face turned even uglier.

Fiona shook off his hand, got into the car, and drove away in a cloud of dust. As the car drove farther, Fiona's tears burst forth.

Fiona, oh Fiona, what are you really? A foolish and pitiful clown, caught up in delusions of grandeur!
