Chapter 565 Big Shots Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

"Mr. Darwin, was it your daughter who hit our child?" Dominic's grandmother blurted out, though her thought process was unclear.

"It was my daughter; what about it?" Darwin replied, looking at her.

At this, Dominic's family was absolutely dumbfounded.

"A misunderstanding. Oh, why didn't you tell us sooner that the young lady was Mr. Darwin's daughter?" Dominic's aunt quickly interjected.

They might not be very familiar with Fiona, but they understood Darwin's reputation—ruthless and decisive, and ironically, they relied on this ruthless man for their livelihood.
"Misunderstanding?" Darwin scoffed. "My daughter, Chicago is the sweetest thing, universally adored. She’s never been in a fight, and now your fool of a child is bullying my son and has upset my daughter to this state. You think you can just brush it off with a single word?"

Fiona lowered her eyelids, a silent signal of success. The upper hand was theirs.

"Oh, Mr. Darwin, children will be children, it's not that serious," the elderly woman said with a forced smile, trying to smooth things over. "Let's not make a big fuss about it. Kids fight and make up; they'll be friends again soon."

"Do you think you're in a position to say that?" Darwin snapped back icily.

The old woman's smile froze on her face.

"You're right, you're completely right," Aunt Dominic hurriedly interjected. "It's our kid's fault. Let me have him come over and apologize to your daughter. Please, for the sake of them being classmates, forgive this once. We assure you, we'll discipline him properly when we get home."

She was desperate; her husband's business deal was at a crucial juncture.

They couldn't let their foolhardy child ruin all their hard work.

Without waiting for a response from Darwin and his wife, Aunt Dominic quickly turned and pulled Dominic from around the corner.

"Dominic, apologize now! Admit your mistake! Say you won't bully your classmates again," Aunt Dominic urged anxiously.

Dominic had been hidden away in a corner, hoping to see his family put Chicago in her place.

Instead, before Chicago could be brought to her knees to apologize, Dominic found himself being dragged out by his aunt.

Spotting Darwin's gaze, Dominic shivered and burst into tears, crying out, "I was the one getting hit! Why should I be the one to say sorry? I don't like my aunt anymore, and you're not allowed to come to our house again!"

His cries echoed loudly, drawing a laugh from Fiona.

"All right, all right, if he doesn't want to apologize, don't force him," Dominic's grandmother intervened upon seeing her grandson in tears, cradling him and chiding Dominic’s aunt. "Is it just about money? Like our family doesn't have any. We can pay!"

"Mom!"

Dominic's aunt was flabbergasted by her own mother's naivety.

If money could just solve the problem, would they have been so afraid upon learning that the parents of the two children were Darwin and Chelsea?

"Darwin, take Chicago and Charles and leave. I'll be right behind you," Fiona said, looking at Darwin.

"Why waste any more time on them?" Darwin frowned, clearly not wanting Fiona to engage with them any longer.

Fiona just looked at him silently.

Darwin sighed, "Understood."

He granted a brief, sweeping glance at the family before turning to leave.

With Charles and Chicago by his side, he left through the exit on the other side.

"Mrs. Li, you have such a kind face, and as a mother yourself, you must understand how a mother feels. Please, be generous this time..." Dominic's mother waited for Darwin to leave before immediately starting to speak well of Fiona.

Fiona didn't look at her, unhurriedly walking toward Dominic.

"What do you want to do?" Dominic's mother was startled and immediately shielded her own son, Charles.

"What's the panic?" Fiona glanced at her. "He's just a kid. Am I going to lay a hand on him?"

Saying this, Fiona beckoned to Dominic, "Come here, buddy. A young man doesn't hide behind his mom. Let's talk, shall we?"

Dominic, sniffling and heeding the call to manhood, swiftly wiped away his tears. Despite his mother and grandmother's urging, he walked up to Fiona.

Fiona bent down, looking at the bruises on Dominic's face. Chicago had indeed been quite rough.

Dominic sniffled a couple of times. "Does it hurt?" Fiona asked.

Dominic nodded.

"Good, it should," Fiona said softly. "That's the price you pay for bullying others."

"How can you speak to a child like that?" Dominic's mother, upon seeing this, wanted to step forward.

His grandmother was very anxious too.

"Don't move!" Mike stepped forward, looking threatening. "Take one more step and don't blame me for being rude!"

Dominic, frightened by Mike's demeanor, shuddered and burst into tears again.

Dominic's body shook, and he promptly stopped crying, frightened by the look on the Fiona’s face. She hadn't been overly aggressive, just furrowed her brows, but to Dominic, she suddenly seemed very intimidating.

"Crying won't help," Fiona said, looking him in the eye, speaking deliberately, "Similarly, bullying Charles because you're jealous he always gets top grades is futile. Look..."

Fiona gestured for him to look back at his family.

Sniffling, Dominic looked over his shoulder to see his family, panicked and distraught.

"In the end, you gained nothing, got beaten to a hospital visit by a sister younger than you, and even your loving family is left in fear because of your actions."

The tears streamed down Dominic's face as he sobbed quietly, not daring to wail loudly any longer.

"So, tell me, do you realize what you've done wrong? Will you dare to bully other kids again?" Fiona asked slowly.

Through tears, Dominic nodded fervently, "I understand my mistake. I'll never bully other kids again."

Fiona nodded her head.

"Promise?" she continued. "You're just a kid, I surely won't hurt you, but your mom and dad, they'll have it bad. They'll have to be punished for you, understand?"

Dominic was trembling all over.

Tears streamed down his face as he nodded. "I understand... I won't ever bully other kids again, please don't punish my parents."

Fiona didn't reply.

She stood up straight.

"Antony, I'll leave the rest to you."

With that, Fiona turned and walked away.

Dominic's mother hurried forward, wrapping Dominic tightly in her arms.

"Oh, right."

At the door, Fiona paused as if she had just remembered something.

She glanced sideways at Dominic's mom.

"Because of your child, you've left a deep psychological scar on my son. I don't think he should continue at this school. It's not good for him or my child. What do you think?"

Dominic's mom went cold for a moment.

She then quickly nodded, "We'll transfer schools! We'll do it tomorrow, immediately!"

"Thank you."

Fiona's tone was somewhat polite but distant. After speaking, she opened the door and left.

Mike and his crew cast a fierce glance at Dominic's family before following Fiona out.

The Dominic family immediately let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Mom, you really need to keep a better eye on Dominic. He's caused such a huge mess. I read online that Darwin is incredibly fond of his son. If he decides to blacklist our family, we won't be able to live this life!"

"Yeah, my husband is about to secure a project he's been working on! If I'd known, I wouldn't have come with you!"
