Chapter 882

Preston glossed over the topic and continued to check on Wyatt.

After finishing the check-up, still kind-hearted, he charged Wyatt the standard fee, saying, "The cost of the medicine is separate."

Wyatt replied, "Okay."

"I'm going to take Mia and the kids to the amusement park, so I'll leave first." Preston packed his things into his medical kit and reminded Wyatt. "Stop overthinking. That's the way to recover."

After saying that, Preston added, "Anyway, you can't go back, so stop thinking about it!"

With that, He picked up his medical kit and headed out.

Just as he reached the door, Preston bumped into Emma, who hadn't come for two days.

He had encountered Emma before.

He immediately moved aside warily.

Emma was speechless.

What kind of plague was she?

"Doctor Beaumont, how is Wyatt's condition? Is it serious?" Ryan asked politely.

Preston adjusted his glasses and said, "Not good, but he hasn't reached a point where he can't be treated. Following my instructions, it will take about a year of treatment, and then he should be fine."

"Then you must be working hard!" Ryan quickly said.

Emma seemed like she was about to speak, but Ryan shot her a glare, and she shut her mouth in frustration.

"If you don't have anything else, I'll on my way," Preston continued.

Ryan hurriedly escorted him to the elevator.

As the elevator doors closed, Emma finally voiced her earlier thoughts. "Preston is the fourth generation of the Beaumont family, right? I heard that some of the most skilled doctors from the Beaumont family came back home to assist the Walker family in North Alabama with their childbearing. They didn't even call a skilled doctor to treat Wyatt, just a greenhorn!"

Emma's tone was full of frustration.

The Durham family could have easily afforded them.

"Alexander is not inferior to the elders in the family, don't you think so?" Wyatt's voice interjected from nearby.

Emma and Ryan immediately looked over.

"How come you're up!" Emma rushed over to him.

These past few days, Wyatt hadn't allowed her to visit.

It had been really tough for Emma at home.

But now, seeing Wyatt visibly improving, she felt a lot more relieved.

"You're just in time. I'm planning to leave the hospital and go home to recuperate," Wyatt said casually.

Emma's face lit up. "Great! After we go home, I'll take care of you!"

"I'm not going back to the old mansion," Wyatt said calmly, "I've hired a caregiver, and we have servants at home."

Emma's expression slowly turned somber.

"That's fine," Ryan said lovingly, "You can come and go as you please; we won't restrict you anymore."

Upon hearing this, Emma quickly chimed in, "Yes, yes!"

"I'm going downstairs to soak up some sun. You two carry on as you wish," Wyatt said, lowering his eyelids. Then he walked past his parents and into the elevator.

Emma watched as the elevator doors closed. Her expression was extremely complex.

In the past, Wyatt had never stayed mad at her for long.

Even being angry, he would soften up within three days.

But this time, it had been half a month, and Wyatt didn't even look at her directly.

She admitted that she had made mistakes in handling the situation with Stella, but hadn't she accepted her punishment?

Just for Stella, did Wyatt really not want his mother anymore?

Downstairs, Wyatt found a quiet spot to sit.

His phone started buzzing.

He glanced down and saw an unfamiliar overseas number, but he knew who it was.
