Chapter 938
Stella was in a better mood.
Alexander rarely thought about Wyatt. But at this moment, a thought about Wyatt popped into his mind all of a sudden.
Stella was so easy to please, yet Wyatt couldn't keep her. Evidently, his love for her was all talk; it was not worth a bit.
There was a fancy cafe near the hospital. Fiona and Darwin went there for a bite.
Since it wasn't mealtime, there were few people.
The two found a quiet corner to sit down.
As they were in the middle of eating, Fiona's phone rang. It was from Burl.
She heard Burl lamenting on the other line, "You guys are eating without us three. Fiona, do you dislike me?"
"Of course," Fiona replied.
Burl complained until Darwin said he would buy them something to eat.
He thanked Darwin and hung up.
Fiona put her phone aside. "Are you two getting along so well?"
Darwin smiled. He just put a shrimp taco on her plate.
Just then, Fiona's phone rang again. She thought it was Burl calling to order food.
She glanced at the caller ID, and her expression changed slightly.
"Oliver?" Darwin glanced at the caller ID.
Darwin had known Oliver before; Oliver and Wyatt grew up together.
"I heard that Wyatt has been up to a lot recently." Fiona pursed her lips. "I guess Oliver is
calling because of Wyatt."
"If you don't feel like picking it up, just leave it alone," Darwin replied.
After some thought, Fiona answered.
"Ms. Woods, what's going on with Darwin now? Why has his previous number been unused for so long?" Oliver spoke, sounding anxious and a bit aggressive.
Very few people knew Darwin's amnesia.
"I'm here. Just say it if anything," Darwin said, completely different from before. Fiona looked up and seemed to see the signs of the former Darwin.
"Darwin!" Oliver immediately raised his voice. "Are you in North Alabama now? When are you coming back to Bay City? If there's nothing urgent, come back soon. Wyatt has gone crazy and caused trouble everywhere like a mad dog!"
"Wyatt is a reasonable person; he wouldn't go crazy for no reason. What did you guys do?" Darwin asked coldly.
There was silence on the other line for two seconds.
"It's ridiculous. He's probably venting out anger for Stella! How can you blame us for what happened to Stella? Besides, does he have to drive his friends to a corner for that? The day before yesterday, Michael was directly arrested. Do you know why? Just because one year ago, Michael got drunk. He thought Stella was really promiscuous, so he hugged her. Dang it. Stella slapped him right away, and nothing happened, but because of this, Wyatt sent Michael to prison! I've consulted the lawyer and learned that Michael will get at least ten years if he's convicted!"
Darwin didn't know who Michael was.
From a bystander's perspective, he only asked, "Did Wyatt wrong him?"
Oliver choked again.
"Darwin, Michael was just smuggling stuff. And you know that..." Oliver sounded even more anxious. "Anyway, we've been friends for so many years. I really think it's not worth it for a woman who doesn't want him! Darwin, you should talk to him."
Fiona gently shook her teacup.
Wyatt didn't just go crazy until these days.
Oliver was so anxious probably because Wyatt was gonna shift his focus to Oliver.
