Wyatt grabbed his phone and tried calling Darwin first, but of course, no luck.
Next, he dialed Fiona.
After hanging up, Wyatt headed back to Starry Century in the capital, cleaned up, dressed sharp, and made his way to the Durham Family.
Even though he was all dressed up, Wyatt looked like a different person.
He was way darker and thinner, not the fresh-faced, charming guy he used to be.
Gideon heard Wyatt was back and rushed out.
When he saw Wyatt, he paused for a second, then with tears streaming down, he punched Wyatt hard. "You still remember how to come home! Your mother, she..."
Wyatt hadn't seen Evander yet.
Just seeing the gray-haired Gideon broke his heart.
Gideon didn't look like this when he left.
"Mr. Gideon Durham, Mr. Wyatt Durham coming home is a good thing. Don't get too emotional, watch your heart!" the butler choked up as he reminded.
"What's wrong with his heart?" Wyatt asked, shocked.
"Don't ask me now, go see your mother first. Maybe seeing you will make her better!" Gideon grabbed Wyatt's hand tightly and led him to the back garden.
As soon as they got to the garden, Wyatt heard Evander humming a song.
Hearing the footsteps, Evander turned around, and when she saw Wyatt, she froze for a moment.
"Mom." Wyatt looked at Evander in disbelief.
The Evander in front of him had half-gray hair, was dressed messily, and her face was full of the marks of time.
Wyatt felt a lump in his throat and walked towards her.
"Wyatt, you're back?" Evander smiled gently when she saw Wyatt approaching. "Why are you alone?"
As she spoke, she turned to look inside the house.
"Mom, who are you looking for?" Wyatt asked.
"Ms. White?" Evander's face was full of anticipation and smiles. "You should be getting married, right? I've prepared so many gifts, all my diamonds for her! The wedding has to be the best! Wyatt, you have to ask Ms. White what she likes, and have a wedding she loves!"
"Mom." Wyatt was struck.
"You have to hurry, that Vaeloria, knowing Stella is kind, secretly wanted to take Stella away for her son! Dream on!" Evander's face was full of love. "Stella loves you the most, you've been together for over ten years, how could she choose someone else? Right?"
Wyatt's face was full of pain.
Looking at the unfamiliar Evander in front of him, full of hope, he nodded with difficulty. "Yes, she loves me the most. Be good, when she's done with her work, I'll bring her home to keep you company."
"Good!" Evander nodded.
Then, she hummed a song again, sat back in her previous spot, and muttered, "The Durham Family is having a wedding, I'm going to have a daughter-in-law, how wonderful."
Wyatt turned to look at Gideon, who was sighing and shaking his head.
A moment later, Wyatt and Gideon returned to the study.
