Chapter 823 Happy Child

"He said to wait until my grades come out before deciding.” Chicago sighed, "Dad is right, Ethan speaks too little!"

Darwin remained silent.

"Let's go pick up Charles." Darwin decisively chose to change this topic.

Darwin reached out to hold Chicago's hand.

Chicago, happy as ever, held her hands with her dad and mom, skipping joyfully as they walked.

The scar on Darwin's hand was still a bit rough.

Chicago couldn't help but gently rub it with her fingertips.

She silently hoped that her daddy's wounds would heal soon.

After they got into the car, Chicago suddenly remembered something, "Oh, Dad, Mom, the teacher just announced some great news in class!"

"What news?" Darwin asked.

"Eleanor got a scholarship to study abroad! She’ll be going overseas next semester!" Chicago said happily, "Everyone in class was so envious of her. I’m super happy!"

Chicago's thoughts were very simple.

If Eleanor went to study so far away, her bad dad and mom wouldn't be able to hurt her anymore!

"I just said goodbye to her and told her that I’d visit her if I have time. Some other classmates also made plans with her!" Chicago had more to say.

That was it.

Eleanor finally made some friends.

She even had wonderful plans to meet her friends next time.

Thalassa had told her when she was very young that saying "see you again next time" is very romantic.

Fiona and Darwin looked at each other quietly when they saw Chicago so happy.

All the things they had done to make her happy were worth it.

Over at Charles's school.

Because they were a bit late, the school entrance was crowded with cars.

Fiona and Darwin decided to park a bit farther away and walked with Chicago to pick up Charles.

When they saw Charles, he was surrounded by a few kids, all holding a piece of paper, seemingly comparing questions with him.

Charles used to be very uncomfortable with this.

He even mentioned it to Fiona before.

But now, he has already integrated perfectly.

Fiona and Darwin waited for a moment, until everyone finished comparing the questions.

Then she let go of Chicago's hand.

"Charles!" A bell-like voice rang out.

Charles immediately looked over. His previously expressionless face softened into a gentle smile.

"Chicago, are you here to pick up Charles from school?" Evelyn asked with a smile.

"Yes!"

Among these kids, Chicago remembered everyone she had met and greeted them one by one.

"Let's go." Charles walked up, holding his sister's hand, and said to the others.

"Keep in touch online!" Frank quickly said.

As the schoolwork became more difficult, Frank was finding it increasingly challenging.

So Frank was eager to have more communication with Charles.

Charles nodded.

Then, the siblings walked hand in hand towards their parents not far away.

As the holiday approached, Charles participated in another physics competition and a math competition.

There was supposed to be an English competition too, but it clashed with the math competition, so he didn’t sign up.

Today, the awards for both competitions were announced.

As expected, Charles won the highest award and prize money.

"Ethan also participated in this physics competition!" Chicago suddenly said as she looked at the medal, "He used to always come first in this competition, but this time my brother beat him!"

She smiled proudly.

Darwin fell silent.

Here we go again!

"How do you know? Did Ethan tell you?" Fiona asked.

Chicago shook her head, "No, the principal told me! He was lamenting that Ethan's prize money would be halved!"

Before Ethan received the compensation for his parents' deaths, he had always been living on various competition prizes.

But now, that prize money wasn't as important.

Last year during the holiday, he made quite a bit of money tutoring Chicago, and had a stable income from tutoring the son of the billiard hall owner.

"Will he tutor you this holiday?" Charles asked.

"It depends on whether Chicago can rank first in her grade." Fiona said helplessly, "I don't quite understand the deals you kids make. If you all rank first in your grade, do you still need tutoring? Shouldn't you only need tutoring if you don't do well?"

"Mom, this is called continuous learning." Charles said earnestly.

Fiona laughed as she held Darwin's hand.

The atmosphere in the car was very cheerful.

Back at Emerald Pool.

Janna had already prepared a big meal, waiting for her children to come back.

After dinner, Fiona went to check the luggage she had packed earlier.

Thalassa sat on the chair opposite her, pouting as if she was about to cry, "I want to go too!"

What a lively scene!

Stella had invited her when she video called Fiona a few days ago.

But...

Thalassa was already in the late stages of pregnancy.

How could she take a long flight?

"If there’s really a wedding crash, I'll take a video for you!" Fiona reassured.

Thalassa's mood immediately improved a bit.

But in reality, Fiona thought that someone as proud as Wyatt wouldn’t crash the wedding.

Unless he had truly lost his mind and didn't care about the family's honor and face at all.

Early the next morning, Fiona's family of four set off for the airport.

Chicago didn't sleep much last night, the little girl was in a very excited state.

Not because Chicago was going to be a flower girl, but because this was her first long trip with her brother and parents.

The private plane landed on time after a long flight.

Stella had arrived early with Alexander to pick them up.

As soon as they walked out, Fiona saw Stella waving happily.

Chicago ran over first.

"Aunt Stella!"

Stella happily picked Chicago up, kissed her on the cheek, and said, "Chicago, you've grown taller, haven't you?"

"Yeah, I've grown five centimeters taller!" Chicago hugged Stella's neck, "Aunt Stella, you look even more beautiful!"

Chicago wasn’t lying, Stella looked much better.

She exuded an air of happiness.

Stella was so delighted by Chicago’s sweet words that she couldn't stop smiling.

"Chicago, come down..." Fiona approached and said helplessly to Chicago.

Chicago was always charming wherever she went.

"No! I want to be held!" Stella held Chicago, "Our Chicago is so fragrant and soft, I love holding her!"

Alexander looked on from the side.

The loving smile on his refined face was evident.

Fiona glanced over.

Sure enough, it was the priest Thalassa had shown her.

She thought these rich kids were just gossiping in the group chat.

"Let me introduce you, this is my new husband Alexander." Stella proudly introduced to Fiona, "Alexander, this is my best friend Fiona, and the man next to her is her husband Darwin! And this little one is the engineer I told you about before, Charles!"

After that, Stella introduced Chicago, "And this one, our talented artist Miss YOU!" "
