Chapter 1005

"Calm down." Alexander raised his hand, his broad palm covering her eyes, obscuring most of her face.

Stella blinked lightly, her long eyelashes brushing against Alexander's palm, sending a tingling sensation. "I am calm."

A few seconds later, she pulled Alexander's hand away and then held it.

She added, "But I'm still nervous. Father Ben won't scold me for taking you away, will he?"

"No, he won't," Alexander said with a helpless smile, "Don't be nervous."

"I'm very nervous!" Stella kept taking deep breaths. "After the morning service, I still have to go back and change my clothes."

She had gotten up and casually put on a tracksuit. Her hair was also a mess.

"You look good," Alexander said earnestly.

Stella's eyes immediately crinkled with a smile.

The two walked and chatted, not yet reaching the church.

Alexander's phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, the smile on Alexander's face disappeared.

Both Stella and Alexander missed the morning service.

After answering, Alexander hurriedly took Stella and ran towards Father Ben's room.

Outside the room, many believers had already gathered.

Alexander's heart was pounding.

Seeing Alexander arrive, everyone had a complex expression, but no one spoke.

Stella looked at him worriedly.

He held her hand tightly, unable to stop trembling.

Soon, Alexander led her into the room.

As soon as Stella entered, she smelled a faint scent of blood.

Father Ben was leaning against several stacked pillows, blood at the corner of his mouth, his face pale, and the light in his eyes seemed gone entirely.

"Father Ben," Alexander called out.

A slight light appeared in Father Ben's eyes.

"Give me the needle!"Alexander looked at Liam.

Liam hurriedly handed him the needle.

Alexander was about to unfold the package containing the needle.

"Father Alexander," Father Ben spoke weakly.

Alexander's hand trembled violently.

"Where is your wife?" he asked.

"Father Ben, I'm here!" Stella hurriedly stepped forward. "I'm Stella, Alexander's wife!"

Father Ben's eyelids struggled to lift, but all he saw was darkness. He could no longer see.

"Stella, a beautiful name," Father Ben said, taking a long breath.

Tears rolled down Alexander's cheeks.

"Father Ben, I was in such a hurry this time that I forgot to bring you a gift. Next time, I'll prepare one for you, okay? When I come to see you next time, I'll bring you the best fruits and the most beautiful flowers!" Stella said gently and adorably.

Father Ben smiled.

"Alexander is a good man," he said after a long pause, "Don't bully him."

"I won't!" Stella immediately replied, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Father Ben, don't worry; I love him very much and will treat him super well!"

"Good," Father Ben said.

Then, the light in his eyes slowly and completely faded away.

"Father Ben!" Liam cried out in pain and rushed over.

On a sunny morning, Father Ben passed away.

When Alexander walked out of the room, he was bumped into by several believers.

He felt nothing.

The cries behind him came and went.

As he stepped over the threshold, he accidentally tripped.
