Chapter 914
Alexander and Darwin arrived with Charles.
Chicago said, "Mr. Beaumont!"
"Dad!"
Chicago jumped out of her mother's lap and ran to her father, hugging him tightly.
Tearfully, she recounted the recent incident where someone tried to attack her godmother.
"Were you scared?" Darwin squatted down, gently patting Chicago's back.
Chicago nodded, sniffling. "Thank goodness Ethan was there. I'm too short to block that high heel!"
It made the adults present can't help but chuckle.
Alexander then checked on Thalassa, saying, "Thankfully, everything's fine."
"How about checking on Kenny, too? I think he was more scared!" Thalassa joked, holding Kenny's hand to help him relax.
Alexander looked at Kenny.
Kenny smiled helplessly. "If you're fine, then I won't be scared."
Once he calmed down, it was time for others to be scared.
Darwin led Chicago to Fiona's side, and the family of four squeezed onto the sofa.
"Where's Jessie?" Fiona asked Darwin gently.
"Still recovering, she's sleeping," Darwin replied. "You really shouldn't let it go diving anymore; it's picking up all sorts of things in its fur."
Fiona laughed.
At that moment, the phone buzzed twice. It was a message from Burl.
Burl: [Done.]
Fiona: [Okay.]
Fiona sent Burl thirty dollars. Then she messaged Thalassa.
Fiona: [Burl deleted everything inappropriate from David's phone.]
Thalassa, receiving the message, looked at Fiona with gratitude in her eyes. This was something she hadn't even had time to think about, but Fiona had already taken care of it through Burl.
Not long after Anna returned, she heard about Thalassa being attacked by Abigail.
She didn't even have time to fully calm Samuel's emotions before immediately coming to find Thalassa.
Coincidentally, on the way, she met Thalassa and Kenny, who were coming to find her.
"Why are you out here in this scorching sun?" Anna scolded hurriedly.
"I came to find you." Thalassa smiled.
"Are you okay?" Anna looked her up and down.
"I'm fine!" Thalassa waved her hand and said, "Chicago and her little boyfriend kicked away the shoes that attacked me, and the shoe landed directly on Amelia's head, quite dramatic!"
Kenny sighed, "Honey, if Darwin hears about this 'boyfriend' thing, he won't sleep for three days."
"Darwin's not here. Let's keep it between us!" Thalassa whispered.
Seeing Thalassa as energetic as ever, Anna felt relieved, saying, "Sorry for causing trouble for both of you."
"What are you apologizing for?" Thalassa spoke, then touched Kenny's cheek. "It's because Kenny is too eye-catching! He's bound to attract attention! It has nothing to do with you!"
Kenny looked helpless and said, "Mom even said yesterday she let me get some plastic surgery to make me uglier. Shall I do that?"
"No!" Thalassa decisively vetoed. "How can that be? If someone covets my things, will I just smash them? No way!"
Kenny immediately burst into laughter. He knew Thalassa's way of thinking too well.
Anna watched and waved her hand. "You two seem fine. I haven't eaten anything yet today, so I'm going to get some food."
