Chapter 1162

Darwin watched Fiona hop out of the car.

She said something serious to Mike, who then bolted off.

After Mike left, Fiona just stood there, looking all worried, sighed, and made her way to the elevator.

Darwin lost sight of her after a few steps.

"Feeling pathetic?" came that annoying, familiar voice from behind. "You're totally whipped by her. Without me, you're lost, clinging to Fiona like a lifeline."

Darwin's face turned icy.

He glanced back at the 'Darwin' dressed just like him. "Guess what she told Mike? Maybe she's onto you again, asking Mike to dig around?"

"If she's suspicious, it's because of you," Darwin shot back coldly. "I won't pull the crap you did. She'll stop doubting me. I'll come clean with her."

"Including me?" 'Darwin' sneered.

He thought timid Darwin wouldn't dare spill his dark side to Fiona.

But Darwin looked at him with clear eyes. "Yeah, including you."

'Darwin' was livid, his smirk freezing.

"Surprised? I'm seeing a shrink. I'll tell them about you. How else can I get rid of you?" Darwin grinned.

'Darwin' got even angrier, his face twisting.

"Fine, let's see who wins!" he yelled.

"No matter who wins, I've told Fiona to leave me if I go back to my old ways. The Solomon Group and all my stuff are in her name. She's got the Rhoads Group backing her. I'll let my trusted guys know what's up. Even if you kill me, you'll get squat. I might not win, but you'll definitely lose."

"Idiot!" 'Darwin' roared.

Ignoring him, Darwin grabbed his iPad and headed downstairs.

Suddenly, a strong shove came from behind.

With one weak leg and no cane, Darwin lost his balance.

He was about to tumble down the stairs.

"Darwin!" Burl came out of Charles's room.

He quickly grabbed Darwin.

"What are you doing? Spacing out on the stairs? If you fall, you might end up in a wheelchair, and Fiona would freak out!" Burl said, patting his chest.

Darwin's face was pale.

The old 'Darwin' couldn't touch him. But now, he pushed him hard.

Darwin instinctively looked back.

Burl followed his gaze. "What are you looking at? Still spacing out? I'm talking to you!"

"Not spacing out," Darwin said, looking at Burl with a hint of apology. "My leg felt weak, and I lost my balance. Thanks, Burl. I didn't fall, so don't tell Fiona and worry her."

"No need to tell me that. Of course, I won't let Fiona worry!" Burl said. "You go ahead, walk slowly, I'll watch from behind."

Darwin smiled faintly and nodded.

Holding the handrail, he slowly walked downstairs.

His grip on the iPad tightened unconsciously.
