Chapter 129 Similar Encounters

Since being bound by Darwin in the operating room, Fiona has been haunted by nightmares. In her dreams, Darwin uses a knife to cut open her stomach. He digs out two tiny, bloody infants. Then, in front of her, he cruelly cuts off the limbs and heads of the two babies. No matter how she pleads and cries. He remains devilish, shattering her children into pieces.

Darwin stays by Fiona's side. Seeing her cry in her nightmares again, he tenderly wipes away her tears.

"Fiona, enduring a long-lasting pain is not as good as a short one." Darwin says softly, whether it's meant for Fiona or to comfort himself, "Soon... you'll be fine soon."

Fiona wakes up. She sees Fiona gripping her hand, pressed against his forehead. She immediately pulls her hand back.

Darwin looks up at her, "Awake? Hungry, right? I..."

"Let me go." Fiona interrupts suddenly.

Darwin's expression remains unchanged, "Stop talking nonsense like this, it's impossible."

Fiona frowns.

"You are the murderer of my child. Do you still expect me to stay with you?" She asks coldly.

Darwin's heart feels like it's been gouged by a knife.

"You dare mention that bastard in front of me? Fiona, just because I don't want to hurt you, doesn't mean I won't spare Dagmar!"

Fiona hears Darwin, calling her child a bastard. Unable to hold back, she laughs bitterly.

"Darwin, you're truly ridiculous, rushing to put a cuckold's hat on yourself." Fiona stares at him with pain and confusion written all over her face, "I just don't understand, since you don't trust me at all, and you don't believe anything I say, why won't you let me go at this point?"

Darwin clenches his fists tightly.

"When you got pregnant with this child, I wasn't even in Serene City. How can you expect me to believe you?" Darwin asks, word by word.

"What do you mean?" Fiona furrows her brow, "Who told you when I got pregnant?"

Darwin takes a deep breath. He went out and came back with a folder.

"Take a look for yourself."

Fiona takes it and flips through. Instantly, she feels like she's plunged into an icy cave. Inside are all the examination forms with her name on them. The forms state that she is eight weeks pregnant. She's almost four months pregnant, how can it be only eight weeks?

Fake pregnancy test results, Ashton's car accident, Dagmar who deceived her to come to Bay City. Fiona's face turns pale. In her mind, she connects all the events of the past few days.

"Just based on these, you cut off my child's path?" Fiona lifts her eyes to look at Darwin.

Darwin furrows his brows, "Aren't these enough to prove your faithlessness towards me?"

Fiona starts laughing. She laughs with a shimmer of tears in the corners of her eyes.

“Thank goodness." She laughed and muttered a couple of sentences.

So, all the beauty Darwin gave before was an illusion.

"Do you find it amusing?" Darwin grabbed her wrist.

Fiona looked at him, like she was looking at a pitiful creature. "Darwin, do you know? They are twins."

Darwin's hand froze.

"You made the right decision because, indeed, you don't deserve to be their father."

After Fiona finished speaking, she forcefully pulled her hand back.

Darwin suddenly felt uneasy. With solid evidence, why did she still say the children was his?

Janna hurriedly returned from overseas. She couldn't reach Fiona on the phone and only found out that Darwin had taken her to his private hospital and she hadn't been seen since.

Janna’s plane had just landed. Wyatt had been waiting for a while.

"Durham family's kid?" Janna Rhoads was somewhat surprised. Then she remembered that Wyatt and Darwin were good friends, and they also knew Fiona.

"Did Darwin send you here?" she asked.

"It was Secretary Woods." Wyatt smiled. "Don't worry, she's fine. She'll be able to move freely in a few more days."

"What did Darwin do?" Janna grabbed Wyatt's wrist.

It was so strong that it made Wyatt feel pain.

"Do you know something?" Wyatt knew very little about Janna Rhoads and Fiona's relationship.

He was even surprised when Fiona specifically instructed him to find Janna Rhoads.

"How much do you know about Fiona’s situation?" Janna Rhoads asked cautiously.

"Are you asking about her pregnancy?" Wyatt got straight to the point.

Janna quickly inquired, "Did Darwin get the child aborted?"

"Almost." Wyatt whispered, "I had a bad feeling about it, so I made arrangements in advance. But Darwin doesn't know, he thinks the baby is already gone."

Janna shivered in fear. "That bastard!"

"Grandma Rhoads, let's talk while we walk. How did you find out about this?" Wyatt supported Janna as they walked towards the parking lot.

Janna mentioned the email incident.

Wyatt furrowed his brows and decided to be frank with Janna, saying, "Grandma Rhoads, I'm not defending Darwin. Honestly, I find this whole thing very suspicious. There must be someone pulling the strings behind it!"

"What kind of person could make Darwin kill his own child?" Janna Rhoads exclaimed in anger!

She had many thoughts all slamming into her at once. I really don't want my granddaughter to stay in Serene City anymore. This time, even if it means using a tough approach, she must be brought back home with me! I absolutely cannot let her fall into despair again beside Darwin!

"Darwin seems to strongly believe that the child is not his," Wyatt replied.

Janna also remembered the email mentioning what kind of pediatrician Fiona’s child belongs to.

She suddenly thought of Jane from back then. Her heart sank deeper. Heaven really plays tricks on people, letting the mother and daughter face the same situation at the same age.

But this time, Janna will never let Fiona fight alone!

Fiona stayed in the hospital for three days. Fiona was almost ready to be discharged. Darwin returned her phone to her.

"Ashton has woken up. Do you want to go see her?" he asked.

"I want to accompany her for a few days." Fiona turned on her phone, and a flood of messages came in. She didn't even glance at Darwin.

These past few days, she has been in this state. Not talking to him, not looking at him directly.

"I'll go with you."

"Go with me, and then what?" Fiona sneered, "When she asks me about the child, I can conveniently point at you and tell her that you killed it?"

Darwin's face turned cold.

Fiona couldn't be bothered to waste any more words on him and walked straight outside.

Darwin ultimately didn't follow after her. Only the bodyguards secretly followed to protect her.

After everyone left, Darwin sat dejectedly on the sofa.

After a while, he called Liu, his assistant, wanting him to go to the apartment, pack a few of Fiona's clothes, and deliver them to her.

But after the call connected, he changed his mind once again, deciding to go back there personally.
