Chapter 116 Is She Pregnant?

"Is that enough?" Darwin smiled, his eyes twinkling with stars.

He leaned down and deeply kissed Fiona, saying, "This is enough!"

Fiona blushed. Even when she and Darwin were more intimate, they had never been this affectionate.

Back then, the Darwin on the bed and the Darwin off the bed were two different people. He could sweet talk her in bed, calling her baby, but once off the bed, he was a different man.

"This is for Liu, the assistant." Fiona took a paper bag from the foyer.

Darwin frowned, "What is it?"

"Breakfast." Fiona added before Darwin could protest, "According to the usual time, after Liu picks you up, there is time to buy breakfast. But today, you wasted almost an hour, so this is compensation."

"You made it yourself?"

"It's not as delicious as yours." Fiona cajoled like she was with a child.

"Hmph."

Darwin didn't know if he was pleased or not, but he at least took the breakfast and walked out the door.

Fiona worried, standing at the doorway, and reminded Darwin, "Don't throw it away, I will ask Liu about it!"

"Alright!"

Fiona smiled and closed the door. She looked around this house. For some reason, it felt even warmer.

Fiona and Ashton agreed to meet at 11:30 a.m., have lunch together, and then go shopping. When they arrived at the restaurant, Ashton was already waiting.

"Wedding?"

Fiona thought about it and decided that Ashton was the person closest to her now, so she should tell her about the wedding. After all, she had been worried about herself since she found out about her pregnancy and Darwin.

Ashton listened. She almost choked on her bubble tea.

"Keep your voice down!" Fiona whispered.

"Darwin!!" Ashton pounded her chest and stomped his feet, "I didn't misjudge you! Well done!"

Fiona was speechless.

"And you, he said today and meant today, so why wait for a good day?" Ashton was exasperated.

"What's there to be afraid of? If he can't even endure a few days or half a month, then how can we spend the rest of our lives together?" Fiona's tone was calm, "Furthermore, my grandmother said that marriage is a sacred and solemn matter. We must choose a special day, so that the heavens and the gods will bless us, and we will love each other till old age. My grandfather carefully chose a good day and went to register with my grandmother."

"They truly loved each other for a lifetime..." Ashton had never seen Fiona's grandfather, but she often ate at her grandmother's place.

Her grandmother's cooking was delicious, and it surpassed her mother's cooking skills, which were known to burn through pots. It's hard to say how many adventures her cooking skills had led to.

Although Ashton hadn't seen the two together, whenever Fiona mentioned her grandfather, her grandmother's eyes were always filled with tenderness and love. She always said he was a very, very good person.

"Mm." Fiona nodded. She was also greedy and wanted to love each other for a lifetime.

"Well, let's take a good look at the days. I believe in Darwin. He truly loves you!" Ashton nodded in self-approval as she spoke.

Fiona handed her a piece of fried chicken, saying, "Let's eat!"

"Oh, by the way, Rupert Wells contacted me again," Ashton's face changed.

Fiona's expression turned cold, "What did he want with you?"

"He said he saw Darwin canceling the engagement and wanted your phone number. Of course, I didn't give it to him. Then he started trying to pressure me to advise you to turn back," Ashton rolled her eyes, "He thought Darwin was keeping you like a canary. He couldn't even imagine that you and Darwin are getting married now!"

"If you find it bothersome, just ignore him," Fiona said nonchalantly, "We didn't have any interactions to begin with."

"Yeah, I just wanted to warn you. Who knows if he'll find you from somewhere else?" Ashton couldn't have imagined that.

As she said this, across the restaurant, sitting in a discreet manner near the window, was Rupert Wells. Since seeing Fiona last time, he hadn't returned to the lab. He was no longer elegant, his unkempt beard made him look disheveled. He had been wanting to see Fiona again, to persuade her and take her away from Serene City. But he had been to Solomon's door, to the Solomons' side, and had never severed contact with Ashton.

At first, when Ashton heard about Fiona's situation, she was very angry, but for some reason, her attitude changed the next day. She told him to live his own life and stop meddling.

Meddling?

How could this be considered meddling? If it weren't for Darwin's seduction back then! If it weren't for him taking advantage of Fiona's grandmother's illness and seizing the opportunity.

Fiona had been his girlfriend a long time ago. After studying so well, she rushed through her graduation after being with Darwin. She should have taken the postgraduate entrance exam and pursued better opportunities! If Darwin really cared about her, why wouldn't he let her go to a better place? He just lusted after her body! When she grows old and loses her appeal, he'll kick her away and find other beautiful college students. By that time, Fiona will truly be finished!

Unable to find Fiona, Rupert Wells chose to track Ashton. Unexpectedly, on his first tracking attempt, he saw Fiona. Rupert Wells was trembling with excitement.

Fiona and Ashton had no idea about this. After lunch, the two of them went shopping. Ashton had secured a major project, and the company was holding an award ceremony. She wanted to buy a beautiful dress for the occasion. They agreed on just one. But throughout the afternoon, Ashton bought six.

Ashton also had to decorate the apartment, and she ended up buying a large amount of stuff.

She already bought everything online. However, while passing by a maternity store, Fiona couldn't help but stop in front of the beautiful clothes displayed in the shop window. She didn't know whether she was having a boy or a girl, for her two little treasures. "Do you like them?" Ashton asked. "Mm-hmm," Fiona nodded. "Then let's go in and take a look!" Ashton said, taking Fiona's hand and leading her into the maternity store.

Meanwhile, Hathaway, whose alliance with Darwin had failed and caused the family to be passive and involved in scandals, was about to be ordered to return to the country. Before leaving, she had picked up a diamond necklace she had ordered for Anniston. Hathaway hadn't completely given up on the possibility with Darwin and still hoped that Anniston could help her. So she happily came to the mall to collect the necklace, but she didn't expect to run into Fiona here.

As Hathaway left the jewelry store, she saw Fiona coming out of a maternity store, carrying a handbag. This maternity brand was known as the Hermès of the maternity industry—excellent products, but very expensive. Why would Fiona go there if she only bought baby products? Hathaway, inexplicably, remembered the incident where Fiona had vomited in front of her last time. At that time, she didn't think much of it, only considering Fiona to be impolite. But now, seeing Fiona come out of the maternity store carrying a paper bag, a bad feeling started to rise in her heart. Fiona... Is she pregnant?
